The Lantern

Titus3

Heirs of Grace

Remind them to be subject to rulers, to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good work,

to speak evil of no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing all meekness toward all men.

For we ourselves also were once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various desires and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another.

But when the kindness and the love for mankind of God our Savior appeared,

not by works in righteousness that we ourselves did, but according to his mercy he saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,

whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior,

so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

Faithful is the word, and concerning these things I want you to affirm strongly, so that those who have believed God may take care to devote themselves to good works. These things are good and profitable to men.

Avoid Divisions

But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and arguments and quarrels about the law, for they are unprofitable and worthless.

A factious man, after a first and a second admonition, reject,

knowing that such a one has been perverted and is sinning, being self-condemned.

Final Remarks and Greetings

When I send Artemas to you, or Tychicus, be diligent to come to me at Nicopolis, for I have decided to winter there.

Diligently send Zenas the lawyer and Apollos on their way, that nothing may be lacking to them.

And let our own also learn to devote themselves to good works for necessary needs, so that they may not be unfruitful.

All those with me greet you. Greet those who love us in the faith. Grace be with you all.
