Teaching Sound Doctrine
But you, speak the things that are fitting for the sound teaching.
Old men are to be sober, dignified, self-controlled, sound in the faith, in love, in endurance.
Old women likewise, reverent in behavior, not slanderers, not enslaved to much wine, teachers of what is good,
so that they may train the young women in self-control: to be lovers of their husbands, lovers of their children,
self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the word of God may not be blasphemed.
Likewise, encourage the younger men to be self-controlled,
in all things holding yourself forth as a pattern of good works: in the teaching, incorruptibility, dignity,
sound speech beyond reproach, so that the one opposing may be ashamed, having nothing evil to say about us.
Slaves are to be subject to their own masters in everything, to be well-pleasing, not contradicting,
not pilfering, but showing all good fidelity, so that in all things they may adorn the teaching of God our Savior.
God’s Grace Brings Salvation
For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men,
instructing us that, having denied ungodliness and worldly desires, we should live with self-control and righteously and godly in the present age,
awaiting the blessed hope and appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,
who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all lawlessness and purify for himself a people for his own possession, zealous for good works.
Speak these things, and encourage, and convict with all authority. Let no one despise you.
