The Lampstand
And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
“Speak to Aaron, and say to him: When you set up the lamps, the seven lamps shall give light toward the front of the lampstand.”
And Aaron did so; toward the front of the lampstand he set up its lamps, as the LORD had commanded Moses.
And this was the workmanship of the lampstand: hammered work of gold; from its base to its flower it was hammered work. According to the vision that the LORD had shown Moses, so he made the lampstand.
Cleansing the Levites
And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
“Take the Levites from among the sons of Israel, and cleanse them.
And thus you shall do to them to cleanse them: sprinkle on them the water of purification; and they shall pass a razor over all their flesh, and wash their clothes, and cleanse themselves.
And they shall take a young bull with its grain offering, fine flour mixed with oil; and a second young bull you shall take for a sin offering.
And you shall bring the Levites near before the Tent of Meeting, and assemble all the congregation of the sons of Israel.
And you shall bring the Levites near before the LORD, and the sons of Israel shall lay their hands on the Levites.
And Aaron shall wave the Levites as a wave offering before the LORD, from the sons of Israel, that they may be for doing the service of the LORD.
And the Levites shall lay their hands on the heads of the bulls; and offer the one as a sin offering and the one as a burnt offering to the LORD, to make atonement for the Levites.
And you shall stand the Levites before Aaron and before his sons, and wave them as a wave offering to the LORD.
And you shall separate the Levites from among the sons of Israel; and the Levites shall be mine.
And after that the Levites shall come in to serve the Tent of Meeting, when you have cleansed them and waved them as a wave offering.
For wholly given are they to me from among the sons of Israel; in place of all who open the womb, the firstborn of all the sons of Israel, I have taken them for myself.
For every firstborn among the sons of Israel is mine, among man and among beast; in the day I struck down every firstborn in the land of Egypt, I consecrated them to myself.
And I have taken the Levites in place of every firstborn among the sons of Israel.
And I have given the Levites as wholly given to Aaron and to his sons from among the sons of Israel, to do the service of the sons of Israel in the Tent of Meeting, and to make atonement for the sons of Israel — so that there is no plague among the sons of Israel when the sons of Israel come near the holy place.”
And Moses and Aaron and all the congregation of the sons of Israel did so to the Levites; according to all that the LORD had commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so the sons of Israel did to them.
And the Levites purified themselves, and washed their clothes; and Aaron waved them as a wave offering before the LORD, and Aaron made atonement for them, to cleanse them.
And after that the Levites came in to do their service in the Tent of Meeting, before Aaron and before his sons; as the LORD had commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so they did to them.
Retirement for Levites
And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
“This is what belongs to the Levites: from twenty-five years old and upward he shall come to serve in the service of the Tent of Meeting.
And from fifty years old he shall return from the service of the work, and shall serve no more.
He may minister with his brothers in the Tent of Meeting, keeping the charge — but service he shall not do. Thus you shall do to the Levites concerning their charges.”
