Offerings of Dedication
And it was on the day Moses finished setting up the Dwelling, that he anointed it and consecrated it, and all its vessels, and the altar and all its vessels; he anointed them and consecrated them.
And the leaders of Israel, the heads of their fathers’ houses, brought near — they were the leaders of the tribes, they were the ones who stood over those mustered —
and they brought their offering before the LORD: six covered wagons and twelve oxen, a wagon for every two leaders and an ox for each one; and they brought them near before the Dwelling.
And the LORD said to Moses, saying,
“Take these from them, and they shall be for doing the service of the Tent of Meeting; and you shall give them to the Levites, to each man according to his service.”
And Moses took the wagons and the oxen, and gave them to the Levites.
Two of the wagons and four of the oxen he gave to the sons of Gershon, according to their service.
And four of the wagons and eight of the oxen he gave to the sons of Merari, according to their service, in the hand of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.
