The Nazirite Vow
And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
“Speak to the sons of Israel, and say to them: A man or a woman, when one makes a special vow, the vow of a Nazirite, to separate himself to the LORD,
he shall separate himself from wine and strong drink. Vinegar of wine and vinegar of strong drink he shall not drink; and any juice of grapes he shall not drink; and grapes, fresh or dried, he shall not eat.
All the days of his separation he shall eat nothing that is made from the grapevine, from seeds even to skin.
All the days of the vow of his separation no razor shall pass over his head; until the days are fulfilled for which he separates himself to the LORD, he shall be holy — he shall let the locks of the hair of his head grow long.
All the days of his separation to the LORD he shall not go near a dead soul.
For his father and for his mother, for his brother and for his sister — he shall not make himself unclean for them when they die, for the separation of his God is on his head.
All the days of his separation he is holy to the LORD.
And if someone dies beside him very suddenly, and he makes the head of his separation unclean, then he shall shave his head on the day of his cleansing; on the seventh day he shall shave it.
And on the eighth day he shall bring two turtledoves or two young pigeons to the priest, to the door of the Tent of Meeting.
And the priest shall offer one as a sin offering and one as a burnt offering, and make atonement for him, because he sinned by the dead soul; and he shall consecrate his head on that day.
And he shall separate to the LORD the days of his separation, and bring a lamb a year old as a guilt offering; and the former days shall fall away, because his separation was made unclean.
And this is the instruction of the Nazirite: on the day the days of his separation are fulfilled, he shall be brought to the door of the Tent of Meeting,
and he shall bring near his offering to the LORD: one lamb a year old without blemish as a burnt offering, and one ewe lamb a year old without blemish as a sin offering, and one ram without blemish as peace offerings,
and a basket of unleavened bread — cakes of fine flour mixed with oil, and unleavened wafers anointed with oil — with their grain offering and their drink offerings.
And the priest shall bring them near before the LORD, and offer his sin offering and his burnt offering.
And the ram he shall offer as a sacrifice of peace offerings to the LORD, with the basket of unleavened bread; and the priest shall offer its grain offering and its drink offering.
And the Nazirite shall shave the head of his separation at the door of the Tent of Meeting, and take the hair of the head of his separation and put it on the fire that is under the sacrifice of the peace offerings.
And the priest shall take the boiled shoulder of the ram, and one unleavened cake from the basket, and one unleavened wafer, and put them in the hands of the Nazirite, after he has shaved off his separation.
And the priest shall wave them as a wave offering before the LORD. It is holy for the priest, together with the breast of the wave offering and the thigh of the contribution. And afterward the Nazirite may drink wine.
This is the instruction of the Nazirite who vows — his offering to the LORD for his separation, besides what his hand can reach. According to the vow that he vows, so he shall do, according to the instruction of his separation.”
Aaron’s Blessing
And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
“Speak to Aaron and to his sons, saying: Thus you shall bless the sons of Israel; say to them:
The LORD bless you and keep you;
the LORD make his face shine on you and be gracious to you;
the LORD lift up his face to you and give you peace.
So they shall put my name on the sons of Israel, and I — I will bless them.”
