Consecration of the Priests
And this is the thing you shall do for them, to consecrate them to serve me as priests: take one bull, a young one of the herd, and two rams without blemish;
and unleavened bread, and unleavened cakes mixed with oil, and unleavened wafers anointed with oil — of fine wheat flour you shall make them.
And you shall put them in one basket and bring them near in the basket, with the bull and the two rams.
And Aaron and his sons you shall bring near to the door of the Tent of Meeting, and you shall wash them with water.
And you shall take the garments and clothe Aaron with the tunic, and the robe of the ephod, and the ephod, and the breastpiece; and you shall gird him with the woven band of the ephod.
And you shall set the turban on his head, and put the holy crown on the turban.
And you shall take the anointing oil and pour it on his head, and anoint him.
And his sons you shall bring near and clothe them with tunics.
And you shall gird them with sashes — Aaron and his sons — and bind headpieces on them. And the priesthood shall be theirs by a statute forever. And you shall fill the hand of Aaron and the hand of his sons.
The Order of the Sacrifices
And you shall bring the bull near before the Tent of Meeting, and Aaron and his sons shall lay their hands on the head of the bull.
And you shall slaughter the bull before the LORD, at the door of the Tent of Meeting.
And you shall take some of the blood of the bull and put it on the horns of the altar with your finger; and all the rest of the blood you shall pour out at the base of the altar.
And you shall take all the fat that covers the inner parts, and the lobe on the liver, and the two kidneys with the fat that is on them, and turn them into smoke on the altar.
But the flesh of the bull, and its skin, and its dung you shall burn with fire outside the camp. It is a sin offering.
And you shall take the one ram, and Aaron and his sons shall lay their hands on the head of the ram.
And you shall slaughter the ram, and take its blood and throw it against the altar all around.
And you shall cut the ram into its pieces, and wash its inner parts and its legs, and put them with its pieces and with its head.
And you shall turn the whole ram into smoke on the altar. It is a burnt offering to the LORD — a soothing aroma, a fire offering to the LORD.
And you shall take the second ram, and Aaron and his sons shall lay their hands on the head of the ram.
And you shall slaughter the ram, and take some of its blood and put it on the lobe of Aaron’s ear and on the lobe of the right ear of his sons, and on the thumb of their right hand, and on the big toe of their right foot; and you shall throw the blood against the altar all around.
And you shall take some of the blood that is on the altar, and some of the anointing oil, and sprinkle it on Aaron and on his garments, and on his sons and on his sons’ garments with him. And he shall be holy — he and his garments, and his sons and his sons’ garments with him.
And you shall take from the ram the fat, and the fat tail, and the fat that covers the inner parts, and the lobe of the liver, and the two kidneys with the fat that is on them, and the right thigh — for it is a ram of ordination —
and one round loaf of bread, and one cake of oiled bread, and one wafer, from the basket of unleavened bread that is before the LORD.
And you shall set it all on the palms of Aaron and on the palms of his sons, and wave them as a wave offering before the LORD.
And you shall take them from their hands and turn them into smoke on the altar, on top of the burnt offering, for a soothing aroma before the LORD. It is a fire offering to the LORD.
And you shall take the breast of the ram of Aaron’s ordination and wave it as a wave offering before the LORD; and it shall be your portion.
And you shall consecrate the breast of the wave offering and the thigh of the contribution — that which was waved and that which was lifted up from the ram of ordination, from what was Aaron’s and from what was his sons’.
And it shall belong to Aaron and to his sons, by a statute forever, from the sons of Israel — for it is a contribution; and it shall be a contribution from the sons of Israel out of their peace-offering sacrifices, their contribution to the LORD.
And the holy garments that are Aaron’s shall belong to his sons after him, to be anointed in them and to have their hands filled in them.
Seven days the priest from among his sons who takes his place shall wear them, when he comes into the Tent of Meeting to minister in the holy place.
Food for the Priests
And you shall take the ram of ordination and boil its flesh in a holy place.
And Aaron and his sons shall eat the flesh of the ram, and the bread that is in the basket, at the door of the Tent of Meeting.
And they shall eat those things by which atonement was made, to fill their hands and to consecrate them; but a stranger shall not eat them, for they are holy.
And if any of the flesh of ordination, or any of the bread, is left until the morning, you shall burn what is left with fire; it shall not be eaten, for it is holy.
And so you shall do for Aaron and for his sons, according to all that I have commanded you; seven days you shall fill their hand.
And each day you shall offer a bull as a sin offering for atonement; and you shall purify the altar when you make atonement on it, and you shall anoint it, to consecrate it.
Seven days you shall make atonement on the altar and consecrate it; and the altar shall be a holy of holies — whatever touches the altar shall become holy.
The Daily Offerings
And this is what you shall offer on the altar: two lambs a year old, each day, continually.
The one lamb you shall offer in the morning, and the second lamb you shall offer between the two evenings —
with a tenth of fine flour mixed with a quarter hin of beaten oil, and a drink offering of a quarter hin of wine, for the one lamb.
And the second lamb you shall offer between the two evenings; like the morning grain offering and like its drink offering you shall offer with it — for a soothing aroma, a fire offering to the LORD:
a continual burnt offering throughout your generations, at the door of the Tent of Meeting before the LORD, where I will meet with you, to speak to you there.
And I will meet there with the sons of Israel, and it shall be made holy by my glory.
And I will consecrate the Tent of Meeting and the altar; and Aaron and his sons I will consecrate, to serve me as priests.
God Will Dwell among the People
And I will dwell in the midst of the sons of Israel, and I will be their God.
And they shall know that I am the LORD their God, who brought them out of the land of Egypt so that I might dwell in their midst. I am the LORD their God.
