The Lantern

Psalms8

To the choirmaster, upon the gittith. A psalm of David. LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth — you who have set your splendor above the heavens!

How Majestic Is Your Name!

From the mouth of infants and nurslings you have founded strength, because of your adversaries, to still the enemy and the avenger.

When I see your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars that you established —

what is a mortal, that you remember him? And a son of man, that you visit him?

And you made him lack little of God, and with glory and splendor you crown him.

You make him rule over the works of your hands; everything you have set under his feet:

flocks and cattle, all of them, and also the beasts of the field;

the bird of the heavens, and the fish of the sea, whatever passes along the paths of the seas.

LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!
