Be My Rock of Refuge
In you, LORD, I have taken refuge; let me never be ashamed.
In your righteousness rescue me and deliver me; stretch out your ear to me and save me.
Be for me a rock of dwelling, to come to continually. You have commanded to save me, for you are my crag and my stronghold.
My God, deliver me from the hand of the wicked, from the palm of the unjust and the ruthless.
For you are my hope, Lord GOD, my trust from my youth.
Upon you I have leaned from the womb; from my mother’s inward parts you are the one who took me. My praise is of you continually.
I have become like a portent to many, but you are my strong refuge.
Let my mouth be filled with your praise, all the day with your glory.
Do not cast me off at the time of old age; when my strength fails, do not forsake me.
For my enemies have spoken about me, and those who watch for my life have taken counsel together,
saying, “God has forsaken him; pursue and seize him, for there is no rescuer.”
God, do not be far from me; my God, hurry to my help.
Let the accusers of my soul be ashamed and consumed; let those who seek my harm be wrapped in reproach and humiliation.
But I will wait continually, and I will add to all your praise.
My mouth will recount your righteousness, all the day your salvation, for I do not know the numbers of them.
I will come with the mighty deeds of the Lord GOD; I will make mention of your righteousness, yours alone.
God, you have taught me from my youth, and until now I declare your wonders.
And also to old age and gray hair, God, do not forsake me, until I declare your arm to a generation, to all who are to come your might.
And your righteousness, God, reaches to the height — you who have done great things. God, who is like you?
You who have made me see many distresses and evils will turn and give me life again, and from the deeps of the earth you will turn and bring me up.
You will increase my greatness and turn and comfort me.
I also will give you thanks with an instrument of harp — your faithfulness, my God; I will make music to you with the lyre, Holy One of Israel.
My lips will sing aloud when I make music to you, and my soul, which you have ransomed.
My tongue also will murmur your righteousness all the day, for they have been ashamed, for they have been disgraced, those who seek my harm.
