Of David. Do not be heated over evildoers; do not be envious of those who do injustice.
Delight Yourself in the LORD
For like grass they will quickly wither, and like the green of new growth they will fade.
Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and shepherd faithfulness.
And take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the requests of your heart.
Roll your way onto the LORD, and trust in him, and he will act.
And he will bring out your righteousness like the light, and your judgment like the noonday.
Be still before the LORD and wait in hope for him; do not be heated over one who prospers in his way, over a man who carries out schemes.
Let go of anger and forsake wrath; do not be heated — it leads only to evil.
For evildoers will be cut off, but those who wait for the LORD — they will inherit the land.
And yet a little while and the wicked will be no more; and you will look closely at his place, and he will not be there.
But the humble will inherit the land, and they will take delight in abundant peace.
The wicked plots against the righteous, and gnashes his teeth at him.
The Lord laughs at him, for he has seen that his day is coming.
The wicked have drawn the sword and bent their bow, to bring down the afflicted and the needy, to slaughter the upright of way.
Their sword will come into their own heart, and their bows will be broken.
Better is a little for the righteous than the abundance of many wicked.
For the arms of the wicked will be broken, but the LORD upholds the righteous.
The LORD knows the days of the blameless, and their inheritance will be forever.
They will not be ashamed in a time of evil, and in the days of famine they will be satisfied.
For the wicked will perish, and the enemies of the LORD are like the glory of the pastures — they vanish; in smoke they vanish.
The wicked borrows and does not repay, but the righteous is gracious and gives.
For those blessed by him will inherit the land, and those cursed by him will be cut off.
By the LORD the steps of a man are made firm, and he delights in his way.
Though he falls, he will not be hurled down, for the LORD upholds his hand.
I was a boy, and I have also grown old, and I have not seen a righteous man forsaken, or his seed seeking bread.
All the day he is gracious and lends, and his seed is for a blessing.
Turn from evil and do good, and dwell forever.
For the LORD loves judgment, and he will not forsake his loyal ones; they are kept forever, but the seed of the wicked is cut off.
The righteous will inherit the land, and they will dwell upon it forever.
The mouth of the righteous murmurs wisdom, and his tongue speaks judgment.
The instruction of his God is in his heart; his steps do not slip.
The wicked watches for the righteous and seeks to put him to death.
The LORD will not leave him in his hand, and will not condemn him when he is judged.
Wait for the LORD and keep his way, and he will lift you up to inherit the land; when the wicked are cut off, you will see it.
I have seen a wicked man, ruthless, and spreading himself like a luxuriant native tree.
And he passed by, and see — he was no more; and I sought him, and he was not found.
Watch the blameless man and see the upright, for there is a future for the man of peace.
But transgressors are destroyed together; the future of the wicked is cut off.
And the salvation of the righteous is from the LORD, their stronghold in a time of distress.
And the LORD helps them and delivers them; he delivers them from the wicked and saves them, because they have taken refuge in him.
