Tell of His Wonders
Give thanks to the LORD! Call on his name; make known his deeds among the peoples.
Sing to him, make music to him; tell of all his wonders.
Glory in his holy name; let the heart of those who seek the LORD rejoice.
Seek the LORD and his strength; seek his face continually.
Remember his wonders that he has done, his portents, and the judgments of his mouth,
seed of Abraham his servant, sons of Jacob, his chosen ones.
He is the LORD our God; in all the earth are his judgments.
He has remembered his covenant forever — the word he commanded to a thousand generations —
which he cut with Abraham, and his oath to Isaac;
and he made it stand for Jacob as a statute, for Israel an everlasting covenant,
saying, “To you I will give the land of Canaan, the measured portion of your inheritance” —
when they were few in number, hardly any, and foreigners in it.
And they walked from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another people.
He allowed no man to oppress them; and he rebuked kings on their account:
“Do not touch my anointed ones, and do my prophets no harm.”
And he called a famine on the land; he broke every staff of bread.
He sent a man before them — Joseph, sold as a slave.
They afflicted his foot with the fetter; his soul came into iron.
Until the time his word came, the saying of the LORD refined him.
A king sent and released him; a ruler of peoples set him free.
He made him lord of his house, and ruler over all his possessions,
to bind his princes at his soul, and to make his elders wise.
And Israel came to Egypt, and Jacob sojourned in the land of Ham.
And he made his people very fruitful, and made them stronger than their foes.
He turned their heart to hate his people, to deal craftily with his servants.
He sent Moses his servant, Aaron whom he had chosen.
They set among them the words of his signs, and portents in the land of Ham.
He sent darkness and made it dark, and they did not rebel against his word.
He turned their waters to blood, and killed their fish.
Their land swarmed with frogs, in the chambers of their kings.
He spoke, and swarms came, gnats in all their territory.
He gave them hail for their rains, flaming fire in their land.
And he struck their vine and their fig tree, and shattered the trees of their territory.
He spoke, and the locust came, and the young locust without number.
And it devoured every plant in their land, and it devoured the fruit of their ground.
And he struck every firstborn in their land, the firstfruits of all their strength.
And he brought them out with silver and gold, and there was no one stumbling among his tribes.
Egypt was glad when they went out, for the dread of them had fallen on them.
He spread a cloud for a covering, and fire to light up the night.
They asked, and he brought quail, and with the bread of heaven he satisfied them.
He opened a rock and waters flowed; they went through the dry places like a river.
For he remembered his holy word to Abraham his servant.
And he brought out his people with joy, his chosen ones with a ringing cry.
And he gave them the lands of nations, and they took possession of the labor of peoples,
so that they might keep his statutes and guard his instructions. Praise the LORD!
