Psalms104

How Many Are Your Works, O LORD!

Bless the LORD, my soul. LORD my God, you are very great; you are clothed with splendor and majesty,

wrapping yourself with light as with a garment, stretching out the heavens like a curtain,

who lays the beams of his upper rooms in the waters, who makes the clouds his chariot, who walks on the wings of the wind,

who makes his angels winds, his servants a blazing fire.

He founded the earth on its foundations; it will not totter forever and ever.

The deep — you covered it like clothing; the waters stood above the mountains.

At your rebuke they flee; at the voice of your thunder they hurry away.

They go up mountains, they go down valleys, to the place you founded for them.

You set a boundary they may not cross; they will not return to cover the earth.

He who sends springs into the torrents; they walk between the mountains.

They give drink to every beast of the field; the wild donkeys break their thirst.

Above them the birds of the heavens dwell; from among the branches they give a voice.

He waters the mountains from his upper rooms; from the fruit of your works the earth is satisfied.

He makes grass sprout for the cattle, and plants for the labor of mankind, to bring out bread from the earth,

and wine that gladdens the heart of man, to make the face shine from oil, and bread that sustains the heart of man.

The trees of the LORD are satisfied, the cedars of Lebanon that he planted,

where birds make their nests; the stork — the junipers are her house.

The high mountains are for the wild goats; the crags are a refuge for the rock badgers.

He made the moon for appointed times; the sun knows its going down.

You set darkness and it becomes night; in it every beast of the forest creeps about.

The young lions roar for prey, and to seek their food from the Mighty One.

The sun rises; they gather and lie down in their dens.

Man goes out to his work, and to his labor until evening.

How many are your works, LORD! In wisdom you made them all; the earth is full of your possessions.

This sea, great and broad of hands — there are creeping things without number, living things small with great.

There the ships walk about; Leviathan — this one you formed to play with.

All of them wait for you, to give their food in its time.

You give to them — they gather; you open your hand — they are satisfied with good.

You hide your face — they are terrified; you take away their breath — they expire and return to their dust.

You send out your breath — they are created; and you renew the face of the ground.

Let the glory of the LORD be forever; let the LORD rejoice in his works —

who looks at the earth and it trembles; he touches the mountains and they smoke.

I will sing to the LORD in my life; I will make music to my God while I still am.

Let my complaint be pleasing to him; I myself will rejoice in the LORD.

Let sinners be finished from the earth, and let the wicked be no more. Bless the LORD, my soul. Praise the LORD!
