The Lantern

Mark16

The Resurrection

And when the Sabbath was passing, Mary the Magdalene and Mary the mother of James and Salome bought spices, that having come they may anoint Him.

And very early on the first day of the week they come to the tomb, when the sun was arising.

And they were saying among themselves, “Who will roll away for us the stone from the door of the tomb?”

And having looked up, they see that the stone has been rolled away; for it was extremely large.

And having entered into the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right, clothed in a white robe, and they were greatly amazed.

And he says to them, “Do not be amazed. You seek Jesus the Nazarene, the One crucified. He is risen! He is not here. Behold the place where they laid Him.

But go, say to His disciples and to Peter that He goes before you into Galilee; there you will behold Him, even as He said to you.”

And having gone out, they fled from the tomb; for trembling and amazement had them, and they spoke nothing to no one, for they were afraid.

Jesus Appears to Mary Magdalene

[Now having risen early on the first day of the week, He appeared first to Mary the Magdalene, from whom He had cast out seven demons.]

[She, having gone, told it to those having been with Him, mourning and weeping.]

[And they, having heard that He is alive and has been seen by her, disbelieved.]

Jesus Appears to Two Disciples

[And after these things He appeared in another form to two of them walking, going into the country.]

[And they, having gone, told it to the rest; neither did they believe them.]

The Great Commission

[And afterward He appeared to the eleven when they were reclining, and He rebuked their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those having seen Him arisen.]

[And He said to them, “Having gone into all the world, proclaim the gospel to all the creation.]

[The one having believed and having been baptized will be saved, but the one having disbelieved will be condemned.]

[And these signs will accompany those having believed: in My name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues,]

[and with their hands they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will certainly not harm them; they will lay hands upon the sick, and they will be well.”]

The Ascension

[Indeed, therefore, the Lord Jesus, after the speaking to them, was taken up into heaven and sat at the right hand of God.]

[And they, having gone forth, preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs.]
