Leviticus6

Sins Requiring a Guilt Offering

And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,

“When a soul sins and commits an act of unfaithfulness against the LORD, and deceives his fellow in a matter of deposit, or of a pledge, or of robbery, or has extorted his fellow,

or has found something lost and deceived about it, and sworn falsely — in any one of all the things a man may do to sin by them —

and it shall be, when he sins and is guilty, that he shall return the robbed thing that he robbed, or the extorted thing that he extorted, or the deposit that was deposited with him, or the lost thing that he found,

or anything about which he swore falsely. He shall repay it in full, and add a fifth of it to it; to the one to whom it belongs he shall give it, on the day of his guilt penalty.

And he shall bring his guilt penalty to the LORD: a ram without blemish from the flock, by your valuation, as a guilt offering, to the priest.

And the priest shall make atonement for him before the LORD, and it shall be forgiven him — for any one of all the things one may do that brings guilt.”

The Burnt Offering

And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,

“Command Aaron and his sons: This is the instruction of the burnt offering. The burnt offering itself shall stay on the hearth on the altar all night until the morning, and the fire of the altar shall be kept burning on it.

And the priest shall put on his linen garment, and put linen undergarments on his flesh; and he shall lift up the ashes to which the fire has consumed the burnt offering on the altar, and place them beside the altar.

And he shall take off his garments and put on other garments, and carry the ashes outside the camp to a clean place.

And the fire on the altar shall be kept burning on it; it shall not go out. And the priest shall burn wood on it morning by morning, and arrange the burnt offering on it, and turn into smoke on it the fat of the peace offerings.

Fire shall be kept burning on the altar continually; it shall not go out.

The Grain Offering

And this is the instruction of the grain offering: the sons of Aaron shall bring it near before the LORD, in front of the altar.

And he shall lift up from it his handful of the fine flour of the grain offering and of its oil, and all the frankincense that is on the grain offering, and turn it into smoke on the altar — a soothing aroma, its memorial portion to the LORD.

And what remains of it Aaron and his sons shall eat; as unleavened bread it shall be eaten, in a holy place; in the courtyard of the Tent of Meeting they shall eat it.

It shall not be baked with leaven. I have given it as their portion from my fire offerings; it is a holy of holies, like the sin offering and like the guilt offering.

Every male among the sons of Aaron may eat it — a portion forever throughout your generations from the fire offerings of the LORD. Whatever touches them shall become holy.”

And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,

“This is the offering of Aaron and his sons, which they shall bring near to the LORD on the day he is anointed: a tenth of an ephah of fine flour as a continual grain offering — half of it in the morning and half of it in the evening.

On a griddle, with oil, it shall be made; well-mixed you shall bring it. As baked pieces of a grain offering you shall bring it near — a soothing aroma to the LORD.

And the anointed priest from among his sons who takes his place shall prepare it — a statute forever. To the LORD it shall be wholly turned into smoke.

And every grain offering of a priest shall be a whole offering; it shall not be eaten.”

The Sin Offering

And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,

“Speak to Aaron and to his sons: This is the instruction of the sin offering. In the place where the burnt offering is slaughtered, the sin offering shall be slaughtered before the LORD; it is a holy of holies.

The priest who offers it for sin shall eat it; in a holy place it shall be eaten, in the courtyard of the Tent of Meeting.

Whatever touches its flesh shall become holy; and when any of its blood is spattered on a garment, you shall wash what it was spattered on in a holy place.

And an earthen vessel in which it is boiled shall be broken; but if it is boiled in a bronze vessel, that shall be scoured and rinsed with water.

Every male among the priests may eat it; it is a holy of holies.

But no sin offering from which any of the blood is brought into the Tent of Meeting, to make atonement in the holy place, shall be eaten; it shall be burned with fire.
