“Command the sons of Israel to take to you pure oil of beaten olives for the light, to set up a lamp continually.
Outside the veil of the testimony, in the Tent of Meeting, Aaron shall tend it from evening until morning before the LORD continually — a statute forever throughout your generations.
On the pure lampstand he shall arrange the lamps, before the LORD continually.
The Showbread
And you shall take fine flour and bake it into twelve cakes; two tenths shall be in each cake.
And you shall set them in two rows, six to the row, on the pure table before the LORD.
And you shall put pure frankincense on each row, and it shall be for the bread as a memorial portion, a fire offering to the LORD.
Sabbath day by sabbath day he shall arrange it before the LORD continually — from the sons of Israel, as a covenant forever.
And it shall belong to Aaron and to his sons, and they shall eat it in a holy place — for it is a holy of holies for him, from the fire offerings of the LORD, a portion forever.”
Punishment for Blasphemy
And the son of an Israelite woman — and he was the son of an Egyptian man — went out among the sons of Israel; and the son of the Israelite woman and an Israelite man fought in the camp.
And the son of the Israelite woman blasphemed the Name, and cursed. And they brought him to Moses — and his mother’s name was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan.
And they put him in custody, until it should be declared to them at the mouth of the LORD.
And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
“Bring the one who cursed outside the camp, and let all who heard him lay their hands on his head; and let all the congregation stone him.
And to the sons of Israel you shall speak: Any man who curses his God shall bear his sin.
And whoever blasphemes the name of the LORD shall surely be put to death; all the congregation shall surely stone him. Sojourner and native alike — when he blasphemes the Name, he shall be put to death.
An Eye for an Eye
And a man who strikes down any human soul shall surely be put to death.
And whoever strikes down the soul of a beast shall make it good — soul for soul.
And a man who gives his fellow a defect — as he has done, so it shall be done to him:
break for break, eye for eye, tooth for tooth; as he gives a defect to a man, so it shall be given to him.
And whoever strikes down a beast shall make it good; and whoever strikes down a man shall be put to death.
One judgment there shall be for you — sojourner and native alike. For I am the LORD your God.”
And Moses spoke to the sons of Israel; and they brought the one who cursed outside the camp and stoned him with stones. And the sons of Israel did as the LORD had commanded Moses.
