II Corinthians6

Paul’s Hardships and God’s Grace

And working together, we also encourage you not to receive the grace of God in vain.

For he says, “In an acceptable time I listened to you, and in a day of salvation I helped you.” Behold, now is the well-accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.

placing no obstacle before anyone, so that the ministry may not be blemished,

but in everything commending ourselves as ministers of God: in much endurance, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses,

in beatings, in imprisonments, in riots, in labors, in sleepless nights, in fastings;

in purity, in knowledge, in patience, in kindness, in the Holy Spirit, in love unhypocritical,

in the word of truth, in the power of God; through the weapons of righteousness for the right hand and for the left;

through glory and dishonor, through bad report and good report; as deceivers and yet true;

as unknown and yet well known; as dying, and behold, we live; as disciplined and yet not put to death;

as grieved yet always rejoicing; as poor yet enriching many; as having nothing and yet possessing all things.

Our mouth has been opened to you, Corinthians; our heart has been enlarged.

You are not distressed by us, but you are distressed in your own affections.

Now as the same recompense — I speak as to children — be enlarged also yourselves.

Do Not Be Unequally Yoked

Do not become unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?

And what harmony has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever?

And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God, just as God said: “I will dwell in them and will walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.”

Therefore “Come out from their midst and be separate,” says the Lord, “and touch nothing unclean; and I will receive you,

and I will be a Father to you, and you will be sons and daughters to me,” says the Lord Almighty.
