Hosea6

The Unrepentance of Israel and Judah

Come, and let us return to the LORD, for he has torn and he will heal us; he has struck and he will bind us up.

He will revive us after two days; on the third day he will raise us up, and we will live before him.

And let us know, let us press on to know the LORD. Like the dawn his going out is sure, and he will come to us like the rain, like the latter rain that waters the earth.

What shall I do with you, Ephraim? What shall I do with you, Judah? For your loyal love is like a morning cloud, and like the dew that goes early away.

Therefore I have hewn them by the prophets; I have killed them by the words of my mouth — and your judgments go out as light.

For I delighted in loyal love and not sacrifice, and in the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.

But they, like Adam, have crossed the covenant; there they dealt treacherously with me.

Gilead is a city of workers of iniquity, tracked with blood.

And like raiders lying in wait for a man is the company of priests; they murder on the way to Shechem — for they have done depravity.

In the house of Israel I have seen a shocking thing: there is the whoring of Ephraim; Israel is defiled.

Also Judah — a harvest is set for you, when I restore the fortunes of my people.
