Hosea5

Judgment on Israel and Judah

Hear this, priests, and listen, house of Israel, and give ear, house of the king — for the judgment is yours; for you have been a snare at Mizpah and a net spread over Tabor.

And the revolters have gone deep in slaughter — and I am a discipline to them all.

I myself know Ephraim, and Israel is not hidden from me; for now you have whored, Ephraim; Israel is defiled.

Their deeds do not permit them to return to their God, for a spirit of whorings is within them, and the LORD they have not known.

And the pride of Israel answers to his face; and Israel and Ephraim will stumble in their iniquity — Judah also has stumbled with them.

With their flock and with their herd they will go to seek the LORD, and they will not find him; he has withdrawn from them.

Against the LORD they have dealt treacherously, for they have begotten foreign sons. Now a new moon will devour them with their portions.

Blow the horn in Gibeah, the trumpet in Ramah; raise a shout at Beth-aven — after you, Benjamin!

Ephraim will become a horror in the day of rebuke; among the tribes of Israel I have made known what is sure.

The officials of Judah have become like those who move back a boundary marker; upon them I will pour out my fury like water.

Ephraim is oppressed, crushed in judgment, because he was willing to walk after a command.

And I am like a moth to Ephraim, and like rot to the house of Judah.

And Ephraim saw his sickness, and Judah his wound; and Ephraim went to Assyria and sent to King Jareb. But he is not able to heal you, and he will not cure your wound.

For I am like a lion to Ephraim, and like a young lion to the house of Judah. I, I myself will tear and go away; I will carry off, and there is none to deliver.

I will go, I will return to my place, until they become guilty and seek my face. In their distress they will seek me early.
