Genesis7

The Great Flood

And the LORD said to Noah, “Come, you and all your house, into the ark — for you I have seen righteous before me in this generation.

Of every clean animal you shall take for yourself seven pairs, a male and its mate; and of the animals that are not clean, two, a male and its mate;

also of the birds of the heavens seven pairs, male and female — to keep seed alive on the face of all the earth.

For in seven more days I will send rain on the earth, forty days and forty nights; and I will wipe out from the face of the ground every standing thing that I have made.”

And Noah did according to all that the LORD commanded him.

And Noah was six hundred years old when the flood came — waters over the earth.

And Noah went into the ark, and his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives with him, from before the waters of the flood.

Of the clean animals, and of the animals that are not clean, and of the birds, and of everything that creeps on the ground,

two by two they came to Noah into the ark, male and female, as God had commanded Noah.

And after the seven days, the waters of the flood came upon the earth.

In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month — on this day all the springs of the great deep burst open, and the windows of the heavens were opened.

And the rain was on the earth forty days and forty nights.

On this very day Noah came into the ark, with Shem and Ham and Japheth, the sons of Noah, and Noah’s wife, and the three wives of his sons with them —

they, and every animal after its kind, and all the livestock after their kind, and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth after its kind, and every bird after its kind, every winged creature.

And they came to Noah into the ark, two by two of all flesh in which is the breath of life.

And those that came, male and female of all flesh, came as God had commanded him. And the LORD shut him in.

And the flood was on the earth forty days; and the waters multiplied and lifted the ark, and it rose above the earth.

And the waters prevailed and multiplied greatly on the earth, and the ark went on the face of the waters.

And the waters prevailed more and more on the earth, and all the high mountains under all the heavens were covered.

Fifteen cubits above them the waters prevailed, and the mountains were covered.

And all flesh that moves on the earth died — the birds, the livestock, the animals, every swarming thing that swarms on the earth — and all mankind.

Everything with the breath of the spirit of life in its nostrils, of all that was on the dry land, died.

And he wiped out every standing thing that was on the face of the ground, from man to beast, to creeping thing, to the birds of the heavens; they were wiped from the earth. Only Noah was left, and those with him in the ark.

And the waters prevailed on the earth a hundred and fifty days.
