The Lantern

Ezekiel45

Consecration of the Land

And when you make the land fall as an inheritance, you will lift a contribution to the LORD, a holy portion of the land: a length of twenty-five thousand in length and a breadth of ten thousand. It is holy in all its border all around.

Of this there will be for the holy place five hundred by five hundred, square all around; and fifty cubits of pasture for it all around.

And from this measure you will measure a length of twenty-five thousand and a breadth of ten thousand; and in it will be the sanctuary, the Holy of Holies.

It is a holy portion of the land; it will be for the priests, the servants of the sanctuary, who draw near to serve the LORD; and it will be for them a place for houses, and a holy place for the sanctuary.

And twenty-five thousand in length and ten thousand in breadth will be for the Levites, the servants of the house, for them as a holding — twenty chambers.

And as the holding of the city you will give five thousand in breadth and twenty-five thousand in length, alongside the contribution of the holy portion. It will be for the whole house of Israel.

The Prince’s Portion

And for the leader, on this side and on that of the contribution of the holy portion and of the holding of the city, before the contribution of the holy portion and before the holding of the city, from the west side westward and from the east side eastward; and the length alongside one of the portions, from the west border to the east border.

In the land it will be his as a holding in Israel; and my leaders will no longer wrong my people, and the land they will give to the house of Israel by their tribes.

Thus says the Lord GOD: Enough for you, leaders of Israel! Remove violence and devastation, and do judgment and righteousness; lift your evictions off my people, the utterance of the Lord GOD.

Honest Scales

Balances of righteousness and an ephah of righteousness and a bath of righteousness you are to have.

The ephah and the bath will be of one measure, so that the bath holds a tenth of a homer, and the ephah a tenth of a homer; by the homer will be its proportion.

And the shekel, twenty gerahs. Twenty shekels, twenty-five shekels, fifteen shekels will be your maneh.

Offerings and Feasts

This is the contribution that you will lift: a sixth of an ephah from a homer of wheat, and you will give a sixth of an ephah from a homer of barley.

And the statute for oil, the bath of oil: a tenth of a bath from the kor — ten baths are a homer, for ten baths are a homer.

And one sheep from the flock, out of two hundred, from the watered places of Israel, for a grain offering and for a burnt offering and for peace offerings, to make atonement for them, the utterance of the Lord GOD.

All the people of the land will be for this contribution, for the leader in Israel.

And upon the leader will be the burnt offerings and the grain offering and the drink offering at the festivals and at the new moons and on the sabbaths, at all the appointed times of the house of Israel. He will make the sin offering and the grain offering and the burnt offering and the peace offerings, to make atonement for the house of Israel.

Thus says the Lord GOD: In the first month, on the first of the month, you will take a bull, a son of the herd, without blemish, and purify the sanctuary.

And the priest will take of the blood of the sin offering and put it on the doorpost of the house, and on the four corners of the ledge of the altar, and on the doorpost of the gate of the inner court.

And so you will do on the seventh of the month for each one who errs and for the simple; and you will make atonement for the house.

In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month, you will have the Passover, a festival of seven days; unleavened bread will be eaten.

And the leader will make on that day, for himself and for all the people of the land, a bull as a sin offering.

And for the seven days of the festival he will make a burnt offering to the LORD: seven bulls and seven rams without blemish each day, for the seven days; and as a sin offering a he-goat of the goats each day.

And a grain offering of an ephah for a bull and an ephah for a ram he will make; and oil, a hin to the ephah.

In the seventh month, on the fifteenth day of the month, at the festival, he will make the same for seven days: like the sin offering, like the burnt offering, and like the grain offering, and like the oil.
