Ezekiel42

Chambers for the Priests

And he brought me out to the outer court, the way the way of the north; and he brought me to the chamber that was opposite the separate area and opposite the building, to the north.

Before the length of a hundred cubits was the opening of the north; and the breadth was fifty cubits.

Opposite the twenty that belonged to the inner court, and opposite the pavement that belonged to the outer court, was gallery before gallery in three tiers.

And before the chambers a walk of ten cubits in breadth toward the inside, a way of one cubit; and their openings to the north.

And the upper chambers were shortened, for the galleries took from them, from the lower and from the middle of the building.

For they were in three tiers, and they had no pillars like the pillars of the courts; therefore they were set back from the lower and from the middle, from the ground.

And the wall that was outside, alongside the chambers, the way of the outer court, before the chambers — its length was fifty cubits.

For the length of the chambers belonging to the outer court was fifty cubits; and see, before the temple, a hundred cubits.

And beneath these chambers was the entryway from the east, as one comes to them from the outer court.

In the breadth of the wall of the court the way of the east, before the separate area and before the building, were chambers.

And a way before them, like the appearance of the chambers that were the way of the north — as their length, so their breadth; and all their goings out, and according to their custom, and according to their openings.

And like the openings of the chambers that were the way of the south was an opening at the head of the way, the way straight before the wall the way of the east, as one comes to them.

And he said to me: The north chambers and the south chambers that are before the separate area — they are the holy chambers, where the priests who are near to the LORD eat the holiest of holy things. There they lay the holiest of holy things, and the grain offering and the sin offering and the guilt offering, for the place is holy.

When the priests come in, they are not to go out from the holy place to the outer court; and there they lay their garments in which they serve, for they are holy; and they put on other garments and draw near to what belongs to the people.

The Outer Measurements

And he finished the measurements of the inner house and brought me out by the way of the gate whose face is the way of the east, and measured it all around.

He measured the east quarter with the measuring reed: five hundred reeds, by the measuring reed, all around.

He measured the north quarter: five hundred reeds, by the measuring reed, all around.

The south quarter he measured: five hundred reeds, by the measuring reed.

He turned to the west quarter; he measured five hundred reeds, by the measuring reed.

On the four quarters he measured it. It had a wall all around: a length of five hundred and a breadth of five hundred, to separate between the holy and the common.
