Ezekiel38

A Prophecy against Gog

And the word of the LORD came to me, saying:

Son of man, set your face toward Gog, the land of Magog, the chief leader of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy over him.

And say: Thus says the Lord GOD: See, I am against you, Gog, chief leader of Meshech and Tubal.

And I will turn you back and put hooks in your jaws, and I will bring you out and all your force — horses and horsemen, all of them clothed in full array, a great assembly with buckler and shield, all of them grasping swords —

Persia, Cush and Put with them, all of them with shield and helmet;

Gomer and all its troops, the house of Togarmah from the far parts of the north and all its troops — many peoples with you.

Be ready and make yourself ready, you and all your assembly, those assembled to you; and be a guard for them.

After many days you will be attended to; in the latter years you will come to a land brought back from the sword, gathered from many peoples, on the mountains of Israel that had been a lasting ruin. And it was brought out from the peoples, and all of them are dwelling in safety.

And you will go up; like a devastation you will come; like a cloud covering the land you will be, you and all your troops, and many peoples with you.

Thus says the Lord GOD: And it will be on that day that things will come up on your heart, and you will think an evil thought.

And you will say: I will go up over a land of unwalled places; I will come to the quiet ones, dwelling in safety, all of them dwelling without a wall, and bar and doors they have none —

to take spoil and to plunder plunder, to turn your hand against ruins now inhabited, and against a people gathered from the nations, making livestock and property, dwelling on the navel of the land.

Sheba and Dedan and the traders of Tarshish and all her young lions will say to you: Have you come to take spoil? Have you assembled your assembly to plunder plunder — to carry off silver and gold, to take livestock and property, to take great spoil?

Therefore prophesy, son of man, and say to Gog: Thus says the Lord GOD: On that day, when my people Israel are dwelling in safety, will you not know it?

And you will come from your place, from the far parts of the north, you and many peoples with you, all of them riding horses, a great assembly and a mighty force.

And you will go up against my people Israel like a cloud covering the land. In the latter days it will be, and I will bring you against my land, so that the nations may know me when I am sanctified in you before their eyes, Gog.

Thus says the Lord GOD: Are you the one of whom I spoke in former days by the hand of my servants the prophets of Israel, who prophesied in those days, for years, that I would bring you against them?

And it will be on that day, on the day Gog comes against the land of Israel, the utterance of the Lord GOD, that my wrath will come up in my nostrils.

And in my jealousy, in the fire of my fury, I have spoken: Surely on that day there will be a great quaking on the land of Israel.

And the fish of the sea and the bird of the heavens and the beast of the field and every creeping thing that creeps on the ground and every man on the face of the ground will quake before me; and the mountains will be demolished, and the terraces will fall, and every wall will fall to the ground.

And I will call for a sword against him throughout all my mountains, the utterance of the Lord GOD; the sword of each will be against his brother.

And I will enter into judgment with him by pestilence and by blood; and a flooding rain and hailstones, fire and sulfur, I will rain upon him and upon his troops and upon the many peoples who are with him.

And I will magnify myself and sanctify myself and make myself known before the eyes of many nations; and they will know that I am the LORD.
