And say to Tyre, who dwells at the entrances of the sea, merchant of the peoples to many coastlands: Thus says the Lord GOD: Tyre, you have said: I am perfect in loveliness.
In the heart of the seas are your borders; your builders perfected your loveliness.
Of cypresses from Senir they built for you all your planking; a cedar from Lebanon they took to make a mast for you.
Of oaks from Bashan they made your oars; your deck they made of ivory inlaid in cypress from the coastlands of Kittim.
Fine linen with embroidered work from Egypt was your sail, to be a signal for you; blue and purple from the coastlands of Elishah was your covering.
The inhabitants of Sidon and Arvad were rowers for you; your wise men, Tyre, were in you — they were your pilots.
The elders of Gebal and her wise men were in you, repairing your seams. All the ships of the sea and their sailors were in you, to trade your trade.
Persia and Lud and Put were in your force, your men of war. Shield and helmet they hung in you; they gave you your majesty.
The sons of Arvad and your force were on your walls all around, and men of Gammad were in your towers. Their shields they hung on your walls all around; they perfected your loveliness.
Tarshish was your trader from the abundance of all riches: with silver, iron, tin and lead they paid for your wares.
Javan, Tubal and Meshech, they were your merchants: with the souls of men and vessels of bronze they gave your merchandise.
From the house of Togarmah: horses and horsemen and mules they paid for your wares.
The sons of Dedan were your merchants; many coastlands were the trade of your hand. Horns of ivory and ebony they brought back as your payment.
Aram was your trader from the abundance of your works: with turquoise, purple and embroidered work, and linen and coral and agate they paid for your wares.
Judah and the land of Israel, they were your merchants: with wheat of Minnith and millet and honey and oil and balm they gave your merchandise.
Damascus was your trader in the abundance of your works, from the abundance of all riches: with wine of Helbon and wool of Zahar.
And Dan and Javan from Uzal paid for your wares: wrought iron, cassia and cane were in your merchandise.
Dedan was your merchant in saddlecloths for riding.
Arabia and all the leaders of Kedar, they were the traders of your hand: in lambs and rams and goats, in these they traded with you.
The merchants of Sheba and Raamah, they were your merchants: with the finest of all spices and with every precious stone and gold they paid for your wares.
Haran and Canneh and Eden, the merchants of Sheba, Asshur and Chilmad were your merchants.
They were your merchants in choice garments, in cloaks of blue and embroidered work, and in carpets of colored cloth bound with cords and cedar-fastened, among your merchandise.
The ships of Tarshish were your caravans for your merchandise; and you were filled and made very heavy in the heart of the seas.
Into many waters your rowers brought you; the east wind has broken you in the heart of the seas.
Your riches and your wares, your merchandise, your sailors and your pilots, those repairing your seams and those trading your trade, and all your men of war who are in you, and all your assembly who are in your midst, will fall into the heart of the seas on the day of your fall.
At the sound of the cry of your pilots the pastures will shake.
And all who handle the oar will come down from their ships; the sailors, all the pilots of the sea, on the land they will stand.
And they will make their voice heard over you and cry out bitterly, and they will throw dust on their heads and roll in the ashes.
And they will make themselves bald for you and gird on sackcloth, and they will weep for you in bitterness of soul, a bitter lamentation.
And in their wailing they will lift up a lament for you and lament over you: Who is like Tyre, like the silenced one in the midst of the sea?
When your wares went out from the seas, you satisfied many peoples; with the abundance of your riches and your merchandise you made the kings of the earth rich.
Now you are broken from the seas, in the depths of the waters; your merchandise and all your assembly have fallen in your midst.
All the inhabitants of the coastlands are desolate over you, and their kings shudder with shuddering; their faces are troubled.
Traders among the peoples hiss over you. A sudden end you have become, and you are no more, forever.
