Tribute to Xerxes and Mordecai
And King Ahasuerus laid tribute on the land, and on the islands of the sea.
And all the work of his strength and his might, and the full account of the greatness of Mordecai, in which the king made him great — are they not written on the book of the chronicles of the kings of Media and Persia?
For Mordecai the Jew was second to King Ahasuerus, and great among the Jews, and accepted by the multitude of his brothers — seeking good for his people, and speaking peace to all his seed.
