Ephesians1

Paul’s Greeting to the Ephesians

Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus through the will of God, to the saints who are in Ephesus and faithful in Christ Jesus:

Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Spiritual Blessings

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,

just as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, for us to be holy and unblemished before him in love,

having predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,

to the praise of the glory of his grace, with which he graced us in the Beloved.

In him we have the redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of the trespasses, according to the riches of his grace,

which he made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence,

having made known to us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure that he purposed in him,

for the administration of the fullness of the times, to sum up all things in the Christ — the things in the heavens and the things upon the earth — in him;

in whom also we obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of the one working all things according to the counsel of his will,

for us to be to the praise of his glory, we who have first hoped in the Christ;

in whom you also, having heard the word of the truth, the gospel of your salvation — in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of the promise,

which is the pledge of our inheritance, unto the redemption of the possession, to the praise of his glory.

Spiritual Wisdom

Because of this I also, having heard of the faith among you in the Lord Jesus and the love toward all the saints,

do not cease giving thanks for you, making mention in my prayers,

that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him,

the eyes of your heart having been enlightened, for you to know what is the hope of his calling, what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,

and what the surpassing greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of the might of his strength,

which he worked in the Christ, having raised him from the dead and having seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places,

far above every ruler and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the coming one;

and he subjected all things under his feet and gave him as head over all things to the church,

which is his body, the fullness of the one filling all in all.
