Arise, go to Padan-aram, to the house of Bethuel your mother’s father; and take you a wife from there of the daughters of Laban your mother’s brother.
And GodAlmightyblessyou, and make you fruitful,and multiplyyou, that you may be a multitudeof people;
And giveyou the blessingof Abraham,to you, and to your seedwith you; that you may inheritthe landin which you are a stranger,which Godgaveto Abraham.
And Isaac sent away Jacob: and he went to Padan-aram to Laban, son of Bethuel the Syrian, the brother of Rebekah, Jacob’s and Esau’s mother.
Esau Marries Mahalath
When Esau saw that Isaac had blessed Jacob, and sent him away to Padan-aram, to take him a wife from there; and that as he blessed him he gave him a charge, saying, You shall not take a wife of the daughters of Canaan;
And that Jacob obeyed his father and his mother, and was gone to Padan-aram;
And Esauseeingthat the daughtersof CanaanpleasednotIsaachis father;
Then wentEsauto Ishmael,and tookto the wiveswhich he had Mahalaththe daughterof IshmaelAbraham’sson,the sisterof Nebajoth,to be his wife.

And Jacobwent outfrom Beersheba,and wenttoward Haran.
And he lightedupon a certain place,and stayed there all night,because the sunwas set;and he tookof the stonesof that place,and putthem forhis pillows,and lay downin that placeto sleep.
And he dreamed,and look a ladderset upon the earth,and the top of itreachedto heaven:and look the angelsof Godascendingand descendingon it.
And indeed, the LORDstoodabove it, and said,Iamthe LORDGodof Abrahamyour father,and the Godof Isaac:the landon which you liest,to you will I give it,and to your seed;
And your seedshall be as the dustof the earth,and you shall spread abroadto the west,and to the east,and to the north,and to the south:and in you and in your seedshall all the familiesof the earthbe blessed.
And indeed, Iamwith you, and will keepyou in allplaceswhereyou go,and will bring you againinto this land;for I will not leaveyou, untilI have donethatwhich I have spokento you of.
And Jacobawakedout of his sleep,and he said,Surelythe LORDisin this place;and I knewit not.
And he was afraid,and said,How dreadfulisthis place!thisisnone other but the houseof God,and thisisthe gateof heaven.

And Jacobrose up earlyin the morning,and tookthe stonethat he had putforhis pillows,and set it upfora pillar,and pouredoilupon the top of it.
And he calledthe nameof that placeBethel:butthe nameof that citywas calledLuzat the first.
And Jacobvoweda vow,saying,If Godwill be with me, and will keep mein this waythat I go,and will giveme breadto eat,and apparelto put on,
So that I come againto my father’shousein peace;then shall the LORDbe my God:
And this stone,which I have setfora pillar,shall be God’shouse:and of all that you shall giveme I will surelygive the tenthto you.
