And the LORDsaidto Moses,Depart,andgo uphence, you and the peoplewhich you have brought upout of the landof Egypt,to the landwhich I sworeto Abraham,to Isaac,and to Jacob,saying,To your seedwill I giveit:
And I will sendan angelbeforeyou; and I will drive outthe Canaanite,the Amorite,and the Hittite,and the Perizzite,the Hivite,and the Jebusite:
To a land flowing with milk and honey: for I will not go up in the midst of you; for you are a stiffnecked people: lest I consume you in the way.
And when the peopleheardthese eviltidings,they mourned:and no mandid puton him his ornaments.
For the LORDhad saidto Moses,Sayto the childrenof Israel,Youarea stiffneckedpeople:I will come upinto the midstof you in amoment,and consumeyou: therefore now put offyour ornamentsfrom you, that I may knowwhat to doto you.

And Mosestookthe tabernacle,and pitchedit withoutthe camp,afar offfrom the camp,and calledit the Tabernacleof the congregation.And it happened,thatevery one which soughtthe LORDwent outto the tabernacleof the congregation,whichwaswithoutthe camp.
And it happened, when Moseswent outto the tabernacle,thatall the peoplerose up,and stoodevery manathis tentdoor,and lookedafterMoses,until he was goneinto the tabernacle.
And it happened, as Mosesenteredinto the tabernacle,the cloudypillardescended,and stoodatthe doorof the tabernacle,andthe LORDtalkedwith Moses.
And all the peoplesawthe cloudypillarstandatthe tabernacledoor:and all the peoplerose upand worshipped,every maninhis tentdoor.
And the LORDspoketo Mosesfaceto face,as a manspeaksto his friend.And he turned againinto the camp:but his servantJoshua,the sonof Nun,a young man,departednot outof the tabernacle.

And Mosessaidto the LORD,See,you sayto me, Bring upthis people:and you have not let me knowwhom you will sendwith me. Yet you have said,I knowyou by name,and you have also foundgracein my sight.
Now therefore, I pray you, if I have foundgracein your sight,showme now your way,that I may knowyou, that I may findgracein your sight:and considerthat this nationisyour people.
And he said,My presenceshall gowith you, and I will give you rest.
And he saidto him, If your presencegonotwith me, carry us not uphence.
For in which shall it be knownherethat I and your peoplehave foundgracein your sight?is itnot in that you gowith us? so shall we be separated,I and your people,from all the peoplethatareupon the faceof the earth.
And the LORDsaidto Moses,I will dothis thingalso that you have spoken:for you have foundgracein my sight,and I knowyou by name.
And he said,I beg you,showme your glory.
And he said,I will make all my goodnesspassbefore you, and I will proclaimthe nameof the LORDbeforeyou; and will be graciousto whom I will be gracious,and will show mercyon whom I will show mercy.
And he said, You cannot see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live.
And the LORDsaid,Look,there isa placeby me, and you shall standupon a rock:
And it shall happen, while my glorypasses by,that I will putyou in a cliftof the rock,and will coveryou with my handwhileI pass by:
And I will takeaway my hand,and you shall seemy back parts:but my faceshall not be seen.
