To the choirmaster. Do Not Destroy. Of David. A miktam. Do you indeed speak righteousness in silence? Do you judge the sons of man with uprightness?
God Judges the Earth
Even in heart you work injustices; in the land you weigh out the violence of your hands.
The wicked are estranged from the womb; they go astray from the belly, speaking a lie.
Their venom is like the venom of a snake, like a deaf cobra that stops up its ear,
which does not listen to the voice of charmers, of a skillful binder of spells.
God, break their teeth in their mouth; tear out the fangs of the young lions, LORD.
Let them dissolve like waters that go their way; when he aims his arrows, let them be as cut off.
Like a snail that melts as it goes, like the stillbirth of a woman, let them not see the sun.
Before your pots feel the thornbush — whether green or burning — he will sweep it away.
The righteous will rejoice when he sees vengeance; he will wash his steps in the blood of the wicked.
And mankind will say, “Surely there is fruit for the righteous; surely there is a God who judges in the earth.”
