The Lantern

Psalms30

A psalm. A song for the dedication of the house. Of David. I will exalt you, LORD, for you have drawn me up, and you have not let my enemies rejoice over me.

You Turned My Mourning into Dancing

LORD my God, I cried to you for help, and you healed me.

LORD, you brought up my soul from Sheol; you kept me alive from going down to the pit.

Make music to the LORD, you his loyal ones, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.

For a moment is in his anger; life is in his favor. In the evening weeping may lodge, but at morning a ringing cry.

And I, I said in my ease, “I shall never be shaken.”

LORD, in your favor you made my mountain stand strong; you hid your face — I was terrified.

To you, LORD, I call, and to the Lord I plead for grace:

“What profit is there in my blood, in my going down to the pit? Will dust give you thanks? Will it declare your faithfulness?

Hear, LORD, and be gracious to me; LORD, be a helper to me.”

You turned my lamentation into dancing for me; you loosed my sackcloth and girded me with gladness,

so that glory may make music to you and not be silent. LORD my God, forever I will give you thanks.
