To the choirmaster. A psalm of David. LORD, in your strength the king rejoices, and in your salvation how greatly he exults!
After the Battle
The craving of his heart you have given him, and the request of his lips you have not withheld. Selah.
For you meet him with blessings of good; you set on his head a crown of fine gold.
Life he asked from you; you gave it to him — length of days forever and ever.
Great is his glory in your salvation; splendor and majesty you place upon him.
For you set him as blessings forever; you gladden him with joy before your face.
For the king trusts in the LORD, and in the loyal love of the Most High he will not be shaken.
Your hand will find all your enemies; your right hand will find those who hate you.
You will make them like a furnace of fire at the time of your face; the LORD in his anger will swallow them, and fire will devour them.
Their fruit you will destroy from the earth, and their seed from among the sons of man.
For they stretched out evil against you; they devised a scheme — they will not prevail.
For you will make them turn the shoulder; with your bowstrings you will aim at their faces.
Be exalted, LORD, in your strength; we will sing and make music of your might.
