Praise the LORD, O My Soul
Praise the LORD! Praise the LORD, my soul!
I will praise the LORD while I live; I will make music to my God while I still am.
Do not trust in nobles, in a son of man, who has no salvation.
His spirit goes out, he returns to his ground; on that day his plans perish.
Happy is the one who has the God of Jacob as his help, whose hope is on the LORD his God —
the maker of heaven and earth, the sea and all that is in them, who keeps truth forever;
who does judgment for the oppressed, who gives bread to the hungry. The LORD sets prisoners free.
The LORD opens the eyes of the blind. The LORD raises up those who are bowed down. The LORD loves the righteous.
The LORD keeps the sojourners; he sustains the orphan and the widow, but the way of the wicked he twists.
The LORD will reign forever — your God, Zion, for generation and generation. Praise the LORD!
