The Lantern

Psalms143

A psalm of David. LORD, hear my prayer; give ear to my pleas for grace; in your faithfulness answer me, in your righteousness.

I Stretch Out My Hands to You

And do not enter into judgment with your servant, for no one living is righteous before you.

For the enemy has pursued my soul; he has crushed my life to the earth; he has made me dwell in dark places, like those long dead.

And my spirit faints upon me; within me my heart is appalled.

I have remembered the days of old; I have murmured on all your work; on the deed of your hands I muse.

I have spread out my hands to you; my soul is like a weary land toward you. Selah.

Hurry, answer me, LORD; my spirit has failed. Do not hide your face from me, or I will be like those who go down to the pit.

Let me hear your loyal love in the morning, for in you I have trusted. Make known to me the way where I should walk, for to you I have lifted up my soul.

Deliver me from my enemies, LORD; to you I have hidden myself.

Teach me to do your pleasure, for you are my God. Let your good Spirit lead me on level ground.

For the sake of your name, LORD, give me life; in your righteousness bring my soul out of distress.

And in your loyal love silence my enemies, and destroy all the adversaries of my soul, for I am your servant.
