The Lantern

Psalms141

A psalm of David. LORD, I have called you; hurry to me. Give ear to my voice when I call to you.

Come Quickly to Me

Let my prayer be established as incense before you, the lifting of my palms as the evening grain offering.

Set, LORD, a guard for my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips.

Do not stretch my heart to an evil thing, to practice deeds in wickedness with men who work iniquity; and let me not eat of their delicacies.

Let the righteous strike me — it is loyal love; and let him rebuke me — it is oil for the head; let my head not refuse it. For still my prayer is against their evils.

Their judges have been thrown down by the sides of a rock, and they have heard my sayings, that they were pleasant.

As one plows and splits the earth, our bones have been scattered at the mouth of Sheol.

For to you, GOD, the Lord, are my eyes; in you I have taken refuge; do not pour out my soul.

Keep me from the hands of the snare they have set for me, and from the traps of the workers of iniquity.

Let the wicked fall into their own nets, while I pass by.
