Micah4

The Mountain of the House of the LORD

And it will be, in the latter part of the days, that the mountain of the house of the LORD will be established at the head of the mountains, and it will be lifted above the hills; and peoples will stream to it.

And many nations will go and say, “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob, and let him teach us of his ways, and let us walk in his paths” — for out of Zion goes instruction, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

And he will judge between many peoples and set right strong nations far off; and they will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not lift up sword against nation, and they will not learn war any more.

And they will sit, each man under his own vine and under his own fig tree, with no one making them afraid; for the mouth of the LORD of hosts has spoken.

For all the peoples walk, each in the name of his god; and we will walk in the name of the LORD our God forever and ever.

The Restoration of Zion

In that day — the utterance of the LORD — I will gather the limping and assemble the banished, and the one I have treated badly.

And I will make the limping into a remnant and the far-removed into a strong nation; and the LORD will reign over them on Mount Zion from now and forever.

And you, tower of the flock, hill of the daughter of Zion, to you it will come — the former dominion will come, the kingship of the daughter of Jerusalem.

Now why do you shout a shout? Is there no king in you? Has your counselor perished, that writhing has seized you like a woman giving birth?

Writhe and burst forth, daughter of Zion, like a woman giving birth; for now you will go out from the town and dwell in the field, and you will come as far as Babylon. There you will be delivered; there the LORD will redeem you from the palm of your enemies.

And now many nations are gathered against you, saying, “Let her be profaned, and let our eyes gaze on Zion.”

But they do not know the thoughts of the LORD and they do not understand his counsel, that he has assembled them like sheaves to the threshing floor.

Rise and thresh, daughter of Zion, for I will make your horn iron and I will make your hoofs bronze, and you will crush many peoples. And I will devote their gain to the LORD, and their wealth to the Lord of all the earth.
