II Chronicles8

Solomon’s Additional Achievements

And it was at the end of twenty years, in which Solomon had built the house of the LORD and his own house,

that the cities Huram had given to Solomon — Solomon built them, and settled the sons of Israel there.

And Solomon went to Hamath-zobah and prevailed over it.

And he built Tadmor in the wilderness, and all the storage cities that he built in Hamath.

And he built Upper Beth-horon and Lower Beth-horon, fortified cities with walls, doors, and bars;

and Baalath, and all the storage cities that Solomon had, and all the chariot cities, and the cities of the horsemen — and every desire of Solomon that he desired to build in Jerusalem, and in Lebanon, and in all the land of his dominion.

All the people who were left of the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites — those who were not of Israel —

of their sons who were left after them in the land, whom the sons of Israel had not finished off — Solomon conscripted them for forced labor, to this day.

But of the sons of Israel, Solomon made none servants for his work — for they were men of war, and commanders of his officers, and commanders of his chariots and his horsemen.

And these were the commanders of the deputies that King Solomon had: two hundred and fifty, who ruled over the people.

And the daughter of Pharaoh Solomon brought up from the city of David to the house he had built for her — for he said, “No wife of mine shall live in the house of David, king of Israel, for the places where the ark of the LORD has come are holy.”

Then Solomon offered up burnt offerings to the LORD on the altar of the LORD that he had built before the porch —

each day’s matter in its day, offering up according to the commandment of Moses, for the sabbaths, and for the new moons, and for the appointed feasts, three times in the year: at the Feast of Unleavened Bread, and at the Feast of Weeks, and at the Feast of Booths.

And he set standing, according to the custom of David his father, the divisions of the priests for their service, and the Levites at their watches, to praise and to minister opposite the priests, each day’s matter in its day, and the gatekeepers in their divisions for gate after gate — for such was the commandment of David, the man of God.

And they did not turn aside from the commandment of the king concerning the priests and the Levites, in any matter, or concerning the treasuries.

And all the work of Solomon was set in order, from the day of the founding of the house of the LORD until its completion. So the house of the LORD was made whole.

Then Solomon went to Ezion-geber and to Eloth, on the shore of the sea, in the land of Edom.

And Huram sent him, by the hand of his servants, ships, and servants who knew the sea; and they came with the servants of Solomon to Ophir, and took from there four hundred and fifty talents of gold, and brought them to King Solomon.
