And the LORD has a case against Judah, to attend to Jacob according to his ways; according to his deeds he will return it to him.
In the womb he grasped his brother’s heel, and in his vigor he strove with God.
And he strove with an angel and prevailed; he wept and pleaded with him. At Bethel he found him, and there he spoke with us —
and the LORD, the God of hosts — the LORD is his name.
And you, return by your God; keep loyal love and judgment, and wait for your God continually.
A merchant — in his hand are scales of deceit; he loves to oppress.
And Ephraim said, “Surely I have grown rich; I have found vigor for myself. In all my labors they will find in me no iniquity that is sin.”
And I am the LORD your God from the land of Egypt; I will yet make you dwell in tents, as in the days of the appointed time.
And I spoke to the prophets, and I myself multiplied vision, and by the hand of the prophets I gave likenesses.
If Gilead is iniquity, surely they have become emptiness. In Gilgal they sacrificed oxen; their altars also are like heaps on the furrows of a field.
And Jacob fled to the field of Aram, and Israel served for a wife, and for a wife he kept.
And by a prophet the LORD brought Israel up from Egypt, and by a prophet he was kept.
Ephraim has provoked bitterly; and his blood he will leave upon him, and his Lord will return his reproach to him.
