The Lantern

Exodus26

The Ten Curtains for the Tabernacle

And the Dwelling you shall make of ten curtains of fine twisted linen, and blue and purple and scarlet yarn; with cherubim, the work of a skilled weaver, you shall make them.

The length of one curtain shall be twenty-eight cubits, and the width of one curtain four cubits — one measure for all the curtains.

Five of the curtains shall be joined to one another, and the other five curtains joined to one another.

And you shall make loops of blue on the edge of the one curtain, at the end of the first set; and so you shall do on the edge of the outermost curtain of the second set.

Fifty loops you shall make on the one curtain, and fifty loops you shall make on the end of the curtain that is in the second set — the loops opposite one another.

And you shall make fifty clasps of gold, and join the curtains to one another with the clasps — and the Dwelling shall be one.

The Eleven Curtains of Goat Hair

And you shall make curtains of goats’ hair for a tent over the Dwelling; eleven curtains you shall make.

The length of one curtain shall be thirty cubits, and the width of one curtain four cubits — one measure for the eleven curtains.

And you shall join five of the curtains by themselves and six of the curtains by themselves; and you shall double over the sixth curtain at the front of the tent.

And you shall make fifty loops on the edge of the one curtain, the outermost in the first set, and fifty loops on the edge of the curtain of the second set.

And you shall make fifty clasps of bronze, and put the clasps into the loops, and join the tent together — and it shall be one.

And the overhanging excess of the tent curtains — the half curtain that remains — shall hang over the back of the Dwelling.

And the cubit on this side and the cubit on that side of the excess in the length of the tent curtains shall hang over the sides of the Dwelling, on this side and on that, to cover it.

And you shall make a covering for the tent of rams’ skins dyed red, and a covering of fine leather skins above that.

The Frames and Bases

And you shall make the frames for the Dwelling of acacia wood, standing upright.

Ten cubits shall be the length of a frame, and a cubit and a half the width of each frame.

Two tenons shall each frame have, fitted to one another; so you shall do for all the frames of the Dwelling.

And you shall make the frames for the Dwelling: twenty frames for the south side, southward.

And you shall make forty bases of silver under the twenty frames — two bases under one frame for its two tenons, and two bases under the next frame for its two tenons.

And for the second side of the Dwelling, the north side: twenty frames,

and their forty bases of silver — two bases under one frame, and two bases under the next frame.

And for the rear of the Dwelling, westward, you shall make six frames.

And two frames you shall make for the corners of the Dwelling at the rear;

and they shall be doubled from below, and together they shall be complete up to its top, to the one ring; so it shall be for both of them — they shall form the two corners.

And there shall be eight frames with their bases of silver — sixteen bases: two bases under one frame, and two bases under the next frame.

And you shall make crossbars of acacia wood: five for the frames of the one side of the Dwelling,

and five crossbars for the frames of the second side of the Dwelling, and five crossbars for the frames of the side of the Dwelling at the rear, westward —

with the middle crossbar, halfway up the frames, running through from end to end.

And you shall overlay the frames with gold, and make their rings of gold as holders for the crossbars; and you shall overlay the crossbars with gold.

And you shall raise up the Dwelling according to its plan, which you were shown on the mountain.

The Veil

And you shall make a veil of blue and purple and scarlet yarn and fine twisted linen; the work of a skilled weaver it shall be made, with cherubim.

And you shall hang it on four pillars of acacia overlaid with gold, with their hooks of gold, on four bases of silver.

And you shall hang the veil under the clasps. And you shall bring the ark of the testimony in there, inside the veil; and the veil shall divide for you between the holy place and the holy of holies.

And you shall put the atonement cover on the ark of the testimony, in the holy of holies.

And you shall set the table outside the veil, and the lampstand opposite the table on the south side of the Dwelling; and the table you shall put on the north side.

The Curtain for the Entrance

And you shall make a screen for the door of the tent, of blue and purple and scarlet yarn and fine twisted linen, the work of an embroiderer.

And you shall make for the screen five pillars of acacia, and overlay them with gold, with their hooks of gold; and you shall cast for them five bases of bronze.
