And Abrahamjourneyedfrom thence toward the southcountry,and dwelledbetween Kadeshand Shur,and sojournedin Gerar.
And AbrahamsaidofSarahhis wife,Sheismy sister:and Abimelechkingof Gerarsent,and tookSarah.
But Godcameto Abimelechin a dreamby night,and saidto him, Behold, thouart buta dead man,for the womanwhich thou hast taken;for sheisa man'swife.
But Abimelechhad not come nearher: and he said,Lord,wilt thou slayalso a righteousnation?
Saidhe not unto me, Sheismy sister?and she,evensheherself said,Heismy brother:in the integrityof my heartand innocencyof my handshave I done
And Godsaidunto him in a dream,Yea,I knowthat thou didstthis in the integrityof thy heart;for I also withheldthee from sinningagainst me: therefore sufferedI thee not to touch
Now therefore restorethe manhiswife;for heisa prophet,and he shall prayfor thee,and thou shalt live:and if thou restorehernot, knowthou that thou shalt surelydie,
Therefore Abimelechrose earlyin the morning,and calledall his servants,and toldall these thingsin their ears:and the menwere soreafraid.
Then AbimelechcalledAbraham,and saidunto him, What hast thou doneunto us? and what have I offendedthee, that thou hast broughton me and on my kingdoma greatsin?thou hast donedeedsunto me that ought not to be done.
And Abimelechsaidunto Abraham,Whatsawest thou,that thou hast donethis thing?
And Abrahamsaid,Because I thought,Surelythe fearof Godisnot in this place;and they will slay mefor my wife'ssake.
And yet indeedshe ismy sister;sheisthe daughterof my father,but not the daughterof my mother;and she became my wife.
And it came to pass, when Godcaused me to wanderfrom my father'shouse,that I saidunto her, Thisisthy kindnesswhich thou shalt shewunto me; at every placewhither we shall come,sayof me, Heismy brother.
And Abimelechtooksheep,and oxen,and menservants,and womenservants,and gavethemunto Abraham,and restoredhim Sarahhis wife.
And Abimelechsaid,Behold, my landisbefore thee:dwellwhere it pleaseth
And unto Sarahhe said,Behold, I have giventhy brothera thousandpiecesof silver:behold, heisto thee a coveringof the eyes,unto all thatarewith thee, and with allother: thus she was reproved.
So Abrahamprayedunto God:and GodhealedAbimelech,and his wife,and his maidservants;and they bare
