9'Surely you either heard or saw it, if it was said to the poor: "Lucilla, out of her substance, makes you also a present"?'

10Castus said:

11'I did not see anyone get anything.'

12Zenophilus said:

13'The evidence of Castus is quite clear, that he has no knowledge that the money which Lucilla gave was distributed among the people. So let him be dismissed.'

14And when Crescentianus the subdeacon was called in and sworn, Zenophilus said:

15'What is your name?'

16He answered:

17'Crescentianus.'

18Zenophilus said to Crescentianus:

19'Tell us frankly, as the rest have done, whether you know that Silvanus is a Betrayer.' |378

21'The clerics who were called before me have related everything.'
