At that time,saysthe LORD,they shall bring outthe bonesof the kingsof Judah,and the bonesof his princes,and the bonesof the priests,and the bonesof the prophets,and the bonesof the inhabitantsof Jerusalem,out of their graves:
And they shall spreadthem before the sun,and the moon,and all the hostof heaven,whom they have loved,and whom they have served,and afterwhom they have walked,and whom they have sought,and whom they have worshipped:they shall not be gathered,nor be buried;they shall be for dungupon the faceof the earth.
And deathshall be chosenrather than lifeby all the residueof them that remainof this evilfamily,which remainin all the placeswhere I have driventhem, saysthe LORDof hosts.
Moreover you shall sayto them, Thus saysthe LORD;Shall they fall,and not arise?shall he turn away,and not return?
Whythenis this peopleof Jerusalemslidden backby a perpetualbacksliding?they holdfast deceit,they refuseto return.
I listenedand heard,butthey spoke not aright:no manrepentedhim ofhis wickedness,saying,What have I done?every one turnedto his course,as the horserushesinto the battle.
Yes, the storkin the heavenknowsher appointed times;and the turtleand the craneand the swallowobservethe timeof their coming;but my peopleknownot the judgmentof the LORD.
How do you say, We are wise, and the law of the LORD is with us? Look, certainly in vain he made it; the pen of the scribes is in vain.
The wisemenare ashamed,they are dismayedand taken:look, they have rejectedthe wordof the LORD;and what wisdomis in them?
Therefore will I give their wives to others, and their fields to them that shall inherit them: for every one from the least even to the greatest is given to covetousness, from the prophet even to the priest every one deals falsely.
For they have healedthe hurtof the daughterof my peopleslightly,saying,Peace,peace;whenthere isno peace.
Were they ashamedwhen they had committedabomination?no, they were not at allashamed,neither couldthey blush:therefore shall they fallamong them that fall:in the timeof their visitationthey shall be cast down,saysthe LORD.
I will surelyconsumethem, saysthe LORD:there shall beno grapeson the vine,nor figson the fig tree,and the leafshall fade;andthe things thatI have giventhem shall pass awayfrom them.

Why do we sit still?assembleyourselves, and let us enterinto the defencedcities,and let us be silentthere: for the LORDour Godhas put us to silence,and given us waterof gallto drink,because we have sinnedagainst the LORD.
We lookedfor peace,but no goodcame; andfor a timeof health,and look trouble!
The snortingof his horseswas heardfrom Dan:the whole landtrembledat the soundof the neighingof his strong ones;for they have come,and have devouredthe land,and allthat is in it; the city,and those that dwelltherein.
For, look, I will sendserpents,cockatrices,among you, whichwillnotbecharmed,and they shall biteyou, saysthe LORD.

WhenI would comfortmyself against sorrow,my heartisfaintin me.
Look the voiceof the cryof the daughterof my peoplebecause of them that dwell in a farcountry:Isnot the LORDin Zion?isnot her kingin her? Why have they provoked me to angerwith their carved images,andwith strangevanities?
The harvestis past,the summeris ended,and we are not saved.
For the hurtof the daughterof my peopleam I hurt;I am black;astonishmenthas taken holdon me.
Is thereno balmin Gilead;is thereno physicianthere? why thenis not the healthof the daughterof my peoplerecovered?
