And Jacobsaidto Joseph,GodAlmightyappearedto me at Luzin the landof Canaan,and blessedme,
And saidto me, Look, I will make you fruitful,and multiplyyou, and I will makeof you a multitudeof people;and will givethis landto your seedafter youforan everlastingpossession.
And now your twosons,Ephraimand Manasseh,which were bornto you in the landof EgyptbeforeI cameto you into Egypt,aremine; as Reubenand Simeon,they shall be mine.
And your issue,which you begetafterthem, shall be yours,andshall be calledafterthe nameof their brothersin their inheritance.
And as for me, when I camefrom Padan,Racheldiedby me in the landof Canaanin the way,whenyetthere wasbut a littlewayto cometo Ephrath:and I buried herthere in the wayof Ephrath;the sameisBethlehem.
And IsraelsawJoseph’ssons,and said,Who are these?
And Joseph said to his father, They are my sons, whom God has given me in this place. And he said, Bring them, I pray you, to me, and I will bless them.
Now the eyesof Israelwere dimfor age,so thathe couldnot see.And he brought them nearto him; and he kissedthem, and embracedthem.
And Israelsaidto Joseph,I had not thoughtto seeyour face:and, look, Godhas showedme also your seed.
And Josephbrought them outfrom betweenhis knees,and he bowedhimself with his faceto the earth.
And Josephtookthem both,Ephraimin his right handtoward Israel’sleft hand,and Manassehin his left handtoward Israel’sright hand,and broughtthemnearto him.
And Israelstretched outhis right hand,and laiditupon Ephraim’shead,whowasthe younger,and his left handupon Manasseh’shead,guidinghis handswittingly;for Manassehwasthe firstborn.
And he blessedJoseph,and said,God,beforewhom my fathersAbrahamand Isaacdid walk,the Godwhich fedme all my life longto this day,

And when Josephsawthat his fatherlaidhis righthandupon the headof Ephraim,it displeasedhim: and he held uphis father’shand,to removeit from Ephraim’sheadto Manasseh’shead.
And Josephsaidto his father,Not so, my father:for thisisthe firstborn;putyour right handupon his head.
And his father refused, and said, I know it, my son, I know it: he also shall become a people, and he also shall be great: but truly his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his seed shall become a multitude of nations.
And he blessedthem that day,saying,In you shall Israelbless,saying,Godmakeyou as Ephraimand as Manasseh:and he setEphraimbeforeManasseh.
And Israelsaidto Joseph,Look, I die:but Godshall be with you, and bring you againto the landof your fathers.
