Then Josephcouldnot refrainhimself before all them that stoodby him; and he cried,Causeevery manto go outfrom me. And there stoodno manwith him, while Josephmade himself knownto his brothers.
And he weptaloud:and the Egyptiansand the houseof Pharaohheard.
And Josephsaidto his brothers,IamJoseph;does my fatheryet live?And his brotherscouldnot answerhim; for they were troubledat his presence.
And Josephsaidto his brothers,Come nearto me, I pray you. And they came near.And he said,IamJosephyour brother,whom you soldinto Egypt.
Now therefore be not grieved,nor angrywith yourselves,that you soldme here: for Goddid sendme before youto preserve life.
For these two yearshasthe faminebeeninthe land:and yetthere arefiveyears,in whichthere shallneitherbeearingnor harvest.
And Godsentme before youto preserveyou a posterityin the earth,and to save your livesby a greatdeliverance.
So nowit wasnot youthatsentme here, but God:and he has mademe a fatherto Pharaoh,and lordof all his house,and a rulerthroughout all the landof Egypt.
Joseph Sends for His Father
Haste you, and go up to my father, and say to him, Thus says your son Joseph, God has made me lord of all Egypt: come down to me, do not delay:
And you shall dwellin the landof Goshen,and you shall be nearto me, you, and your children,and your children’schildren,and your flocks,and your herds,and all that you have:
And there will I nourishyou; for yetthere arefiveyearsof famine;lest you, and your household,and all that you have, come to poverty.
And indeed, your eyessee,and the eyesof my brotherBenjamin,thatit ismy mouththat speaksto you.
And you shall tellmy fatherof all my gloryin Egypt,and of all that you have seen;and you shall hasteand bring downmy fatherhere.
And he fellupon his brotherBenjamin’sneck,and wept;and Benjaminweptupon his neck.
Moreover he kissedall his brothers,and weptupon them: and afterthat his brotherstalkedwith him.
Pharaoh Invites Jacob to Egypt
And its fame was heard in Pharaoh’s house, saying, Joseph’s brothers have come: and it pleased Pharaoh well, and his servants.
And Pharaohsaidto Joseph,Sayto your brothers,This doyou; ladeyour beasts,and go,getyou to the landof Canaan;
And takeyour fatherand your households,and cometo me: and I will giveyou the goodof the landof Egypt,and you shall eatthe fatof the land.
Now you are commanded,this doyou; takeyou wagonsout of the landof Egyptfor your little ones,and for your wives,and bringyour father,and come.
Alsoregardnot your stuff;for the goodof all the landof Egyptis yours.
And the childrenof Israeldidso: and Josephgavethem wagons,according to the commandmentof Pharaoh,and gavethem provisionfor the way.
To all of them he gaveeach manchangesof apparel;but to Benjaminhe gavethreehundredpiecesof silver,and fivechangesof apparel.
And to his father he sent after this manner; ten donkeys laden with the good things of Egypt, and ten she donkeys laden with grain and bread and food for his father by the way.
So he senthis brothersaway,and they departed:and he saidto them, See that you fall not outby the way.
The Revival of Jacob
And they went upout of Egypt,and cameinto the landof Canaanto Jacobtheir father,
And toldhim, saying,Josephisyet alive,and heisgovernorover all the landof Egypt.And Jacob’s heartfainted,for he believedthem not.
And they toldhim all the wordsof Joseph,which he had saidto them: and when he sawthe wagonswhich Josephhad sentto carryhim, the spiritof Jacobtheir fatherrevived:
And Israelsaid,It isenough;Josephmy sonisyet alive:I will goand see himbefore I die.
