And Abrahamsaidto his eldestservantof his house,that ruled overall that he had, Put,I pray you, your handunder my thigh:
And I will make you swearby the LORD,the Godof heaven,and the Godof the earth,that you shall not takea wifeto my sonof the daughtersof the Canaanites,amongwhom I dwell:
But you shall goto my country,and to my kindred,and takea wifeto my sonIsaac.
And the servantsaidto him, Perhaps the womanwill not be willingto followmeto this land:must I needs bringyour sonagainto the landfrom where you came?
And Abrahamsaidto him, Bewareyou that you bringnotmy sonthere again.
The LORDGodof heaven,which took mefrom my father’shouse,and from the landof my kindred,and which spoketo me, and that sworeto me, saying,To your seedwill I givethis land;he shall sendhis angelbefore you,and you shall takea wifeto my sonfrom there.
And if the womanwill not be willingto followyou,then you shall be clearfrom this my oath:only bringnot my sonthere again.
And the servantputhis handunder the thighof Abrahamhis master,and sworeto him concerningthatmatter.
And the servanttooktencamelsof the camelsof his master,and departed;for all the goodsof his masterwerein his hand:and he arose,and wentto Mesopotamia,to the cityof Nahor.
And he madehis camelsto kneel downwithoutthe citybya wellof waterat the timeof the evening,eventhe timethat women go outto drawwater.
And he said,O LORDGodof my masterAbraham,I pray you, send megood speedthis day,and showkindnesstomy masterAbraham.
Look, I standhereby the wellof water;and the daughtersof the menof the citycome outto drawwater:
And let it happen, that the young womanto whom I shall say,Let downyour pitcher,I pray you, that I may drink;and she shall say,Drink,and I will giveyour camelsdrinkalso:let the same beshethatyou have appointedfor your servantIsaac;and thereby shall I knowthat you have shownkindnessto my master.

And it happened, before he had donespeaking,that, look, Rebekahcame out,whowas bornto Bethuel,sonof Milcah,the wifeof Nahor,Abraham’sbrother,with her pitcherupon her shoulder.
And the young womanwasveryfairto look upon,a virgin,neither had any manknownher: and she went downto the well,and filledher pitcher,and came up.
And the servantranto meet her,and said,Let me, I pray you, drinka littlewaterof your pitcher.
And she said,Drink,my lord:and she hurried,and let downher pitcherupon her hand,and gave him drink.
And when she had donegiving him drink,she said,I will drawwaterfor your camelsalso, until they have donedrinking.
And she hurried,and emptiedher pitcherinto the trough,and ranagain to the wellto drawwater, and drewfor all his camels.
And the man wondering at her held his peace, to know whether the LORD had made his journey prosperous or not.
And it happened, as the camelshad donedrinking,that the mantooka goldenearringof half a shekelweight,and twobraceletsfor her handsof tenshekelsweightof gold;
And said, Whose daughter are you? tell me, I pray you: is there room in your father’s house for us to lodge in?
And she saidto him, Iamthe daughterof Bethuelthe sonof Milcah,which she boreto Nahor.
She saidmoreover to him, We have bothstrawand provenderenough,androomto lodge in.
And the manbowed down his head,and worshippedthe LORD.
And he said,Blessedbethe LORDGodof my masterAbraham,who has not left destitutemy masterof his mercyand his truth:Ibeingin the way,the LORDled meto the houseof my master’sbrothers.
And the young womanran,and toldthem ofher mother’shousethese things.
And Rebekahhad a brother,and his namewasLaban:and Labanranoutto the man,to the well.
And it happened, when he sawthe earringand braceletsupon his sister’shands,and when he heardthe wordsof Rebekahhis sister,saying,Thusspokethe manto me; that he cameto the man;and indeed, he stoodbythe camelsat the well.
And he said, Come in, you blessed of the LORD; why do you stand without? for I have prepared the house, and room for the camels.
And the mancameinto the house:and he ungirdedhis camels,and gavestrawand provenderfor the camels,and waterto washhis feet,and the men’sfeetthat were with him.
And there was setfoodbefore himto eat:but he said,I will not eat,until I have toldmy errand.And he said,Speak on.
And he said,IamAbraham’sservant.
And the LORDhas blessedmy mastergreatly;and he is become great:and he has givenhim flocks,and herds,and silver,and gold,and menservants,and maidservants,and camels,and donkeys.
And Sarahmy master’swifeborea sonto my masterwhenshe was old:and to him has he givenall that he has.
And my mastermade me swear,saying,You shall not takea wifeto my sonof the daughtersof the Canaanites,in whose landI dwell:
Butyou shall goto my father’shouse,and to my kindred,and takea wifeto my son.
And I saidto my master,Perhaps the womanwill not followme.
And he saidto me, The LORD,beforewhom I walk,will sendhis angelwith you, and prosperyour way;and you shall takea wifefor my sonof my kindred,and of my father’shouse:

Look, I standby the wellof water;and it shall happen, that when the virgincomes forthto drawwater, and I sayto her, Give me,I pray you, a littlewaterof your pitcherto drink;
And she sayto me, Both drinkyou, and I will also drawfor your camels:letthe samebethe womanwhom the LORDhas appointed outfor my master’sson.
And before I had done speaking in my heart, look, Rebekah came forth with her pitcher on her shoulder; and she went down to the well, and drew water: and I said to her, Let me drink, I pray you.
And she made haste,and let downher pitcherfrom hershoulder, and said,Drink,and I will giveyour camelsdrinkalso: so I drank,and she madethe camelsdrinkalso.
And I asked her, and said, Whose daughter are you? And she said, The daughter of Bethuel, Nahor’s son, whom Milcah bore to him: and I put the earring upon her face, and the bracelets upon her hands.
And I bowed down my head,and worshippedthe LORD,and blessedthe LORDGodof my masterAbraham,which had led mein the rightwayto takemy master’sbrother’sdaughterto his son.
And now if you willdealkindlyand trulywith my master,tellme: and if not, tellme; that I may turnto the right hand,orto the left.
Then Labanand Bethuelansweredand said,The thingproceedsfrom the LORD:we cannotspeakto you badorgood.
Look, Rebekahisbefore you,takeher, and go,and let her be your master’sson’swife,as the LORDhas spoken.
And it happened, that, when Abraham’sservantheardtheir words,he worshippedthe LORD,bowing himselfto the earth.
And the servantbrought forthjewelsof silver,and jewelsof gold,and apparel,and gavethemto Rebekah:he gavealso to her brotherand to her motherprecious things.
And they did eatand drink,he and the menthatwerewith him, and stayed all night;and they rose upin the morning,and he said,Send me awayto my master.
And her brotherand her mothersaid,Let the young womanremainwith usa fewdays,at the leastten;afterthat she shall go.
And he saidto them, Hinder menot, seeing the LORDhas prosperedmy way;send me awaythat I may goto my master.
And they said,We will callthe young woman,and inquireat her mouth.
And they calledRebekah,and saidto her, Will you gowith this man?And she said,I will go.
And they sent awayRebekahtheir sister,and her nurse,and Abraham’sservant,and his men.
And they blessed Rebekah, and said to her, You are our sister, be the mother of thousands of millions, and let your seed possess the gate of those which hate them.
And Rebekaharose,and her young women,and they rodeupon the camels,and followedthe man:and the servanttookRebekah,and went his way.
Isaac Marries Rebekah
And Isaac came from the way of the well Lahai-roi; for he dwelt in the south country.
And Isaacwent outto meditatein the fieldatthe eventide:and he lifted uphis eyes,and saw,and indeed, the camelswerecoming.
And Rebekahlifted upher eyes,and when she sawIsaac,she lightedoffthe camel.
For shehadsaidto the servant,Whatmanisthisthat walksin the fieldto meet us?And the servanthadsaid,Itismy master:therefore she tooka veil,and covered herself.
And the servanttoldIsaacall thingsthat he had done.
And Isaacbrought herinto his motherSarah’stent,and tookRebekah,and she became his wife;and he lovedher: and Isaacwas comfortedafterhis mother’sdeath.
