And the LORDsaidto Moses,See,I have madeyou a godto Pharaoh:and Aaronyour brothershall be your prophet.
You shall speakall that I commandyou: and Aaronyour brothershall speakto Pharaoh,that he sendthe childrenof Israelout of his land.
And I will hardenPharaoh’sheart,and multiplymy signsand my wondersin the landof Egypt.
But Pharaohshall not listento you, that I may laymy handupon Egypt,and bring forthmy armies,andmy peoplethe childrenof Israel,out of the landof Egyptby greatjudgments.
And the Egyptiansshall knowthat Iamthe LORD,when I stretch forthmy handupon Egypt,and bring outthe childrenof Israelfrom amongthem.
And Mosesand Aarondidas the LORDcommandedthem, so didthey.
And Moseswaseightyyearsold,and Aaroneightyand threeyearsold,when they spoketo Pharaoh.

And the LORDspoketo Mosesand to Aaron,saying,
When Pharaohshall speakto you, saying,Showa miraclefor you: then you shall sayto Aaron,Takeyour rod,and castitbeforePharaoh,andit shall become a serpent.
And Mosesand Aaronwent into Pharaoh,and they didso as the LORDhad commanded:and Aaroncast downhis rodbeforePharaoh,and beforehis servants,and it became a serpent.
Then Pharaohalso calledthe wise menand the sorcerers:now the magiciansof Egypt,they also didin like mannerwith their enchantments.
For they cast downevery manhis rod,and they became serpents:but Aaron’srodswallowed uptheir rods.
And he hardenedPharaoh’sheart,that he listenednot to them; as the LORDhad said.
The First Plague: Blood
And the LORDsaidto Moses,Pharaoh’sheartishardened,he refusesto let the peoplego.
Getyou to Pharaohin the morning;look, he goes outto the water;and you shall standby the river’sbrinkagainst he come;and the rodwhich was turnedto a serpentshall you takein your hand.
And you shall sayto him, The LORDGodof the Hebrewshas sentme to you, saying,Let my peoplego,that they may serveme in the wilderness:and indeed, until nowyou would not hear.
Thus saysthe LORD,In this you shall knowthat Iamthe LORD:look, I will strikewith the rodthatisin my handupon the waterswhicharein the river,and they shall be turnedto blood.
And the fishthatisin the rivershall die,and the rivershall stink;and the Egyptiansshall loatheto drinkof the waterof the river.
And the LORDspoketo Moses,Sayto Aaron,Takeyour rod,and stretch outyour handupon the watersof Egypt,upon their streams,upon their rivers,and upon their ponds,and upon all their poolsof water,that they may become blood;andthatthere may be bloodthroughout all the landof Egypt,both invessels ofwood,and invessels ofstone.
And Mosesand Aarondidso, as the LORDcommanded;and he lifted upthe rod,and struckthe watersthatwerein the river,in the sightof Pharaoh,and in the sightof his servants;and all the watersthatwerein the riverwere turnedto blood.
And the fishthatwasin the riverdied;and the riverstank,and the Egyptianscouldnot drinkof the waterof the river;and there was bloodthroughout all the landof Egypt.
And the magiciansof Egyptdidso with their enchantments:and Pharaoh’sheartwas hardened,neither did he listento them; as the LORDhad said.
And Pharaohturnedand wentinto his house,neither did he sethis heartto thisalso.
And all the Egyptiansduground aboutthe riverfor waterto drink;for they couldnot drinkof the waterof the river.
And sevendayswere fulfilled,afterthat the LORDhad struckthe river.
