Thenthe king’scountenancewas changed,and his thoughtstroubledhim, so that the jointsof his loinswere loosed,and his kneesstruckoneagainst another.
The king cried aloud to bring in the astrologers, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers. And the king spoke, and said to the wise men of Babylon, Whoever shall read this writing, and show me its interpretation, shall be clothed with scarlet, and have a chain of gold about his neck, and shall be the third ruler in the kingdom.

And now the wise men, the astrologers, have been brought in before me, that they should read this writing, and make known to me its interpretation: but they could not show the interpretation of the thing:
And I have heard of you, that you can make interpretations, and dissolve doubts: now if you can read the writing, and make known to me its interpretation, you shall be clothed with scarlet, and have a chain of gold about your neck, and shall be the third ruler in the kingdom.

But when his heartwas lifted up,and his mindhardenedin pride,he was deposedfromhis kinglythrone,and they tookhis gloryfrom him:
And he was drivenfromthe sonsof men;and his heartwas madelikethe beasts,and his dwellingwaswith the wild donkeys:they fedhim with grasslike oxen,and his bodywas wetwith the dewof heaven;tillhe knewthat the most highGodruledin the kingdomof men,andthathe appointsoverit whomsoeverhe will.
And youhis son,O Belshazzar,have nothumbledyour heart,thoughyou knewallthis;
