And it came to passabout the timeof shuttingof the gate,when it was dark,that the menwent out:whither the menwentI wotnot: pursueafterthem quickly;for ye shall overtake
But she had brought them upto the roofof the house, and hidthem with the stalksof flax,which she had laid in orderupon the roof.
And the menpursuedafterthem the wayto Jordanunto the fords:and as soon as they which pursuedafterthem were gone out,they shutthe gate.
And before they were laid down,she came upunto them upon the roof;
And she saidunto the men,I knowthat the LORDhath givenyou the land,and that your terroris fallenupon us, and that all the inhabitantsof the landfaintbecause
For we have heardhow the LORDdried upthe waterof the Redseafor you,when ye came outof Egypt;and what ye didunto the twokingsof the Amorites,thatwereon the other sideJordan,Sihonand Og,whom ye utterly destroyed.
And as soon as we had heardthese things, our heartsdid melt,neither did there remainany more couragein any man,becauseof you: for the LORDyour God,heisGodin heavenabove,and in earth
Now therefore, I pray you, swearunto me by the LORD,sinceI have shewedyou kindness,that ye will also shewkindnessunto my father'shouse,and giveme a truetoken:
Andthatye will save alivemy father,and my mother,and my brethren,and my sisters,and all that they have, and deliverour livesfrom death.
And the menansweredher, Our lifefor yours,if ye utternot this our business.And it shall be, when the LORDhath givenus the land,that we will dealkindlyand truly
Then she let them downby a cordthroughthe window:for her housewasupon the townwall,and she dweltupon the wall.
And she saidunto them, Getyou to the mountain,lest the pursuersmeetyou; and hideyourselves there threedays,until the pursuersbe returned:and afterwardmay ye goyour way.
And the mensaidunto her, Wewill beblamelessof this thine oathwhich thou hast made us swear.
Behold,whenwe comeinto the land,thou shalt bindthis lineof scarletthreadin the windowwhich thou didst let us down by:and thou shalt bringthy father,and thy mother,and thy brethren,and all thy father'shousehold,home
And it shall be,thatwhosoevershall go outof the doorsof thy houseinto the street,his bloodshall beupon his head,and wewill beguiltless:and whosoever shall be with thee in the house,his bloodshall beon our head,ifanyhand
And if thou utterthis our business,then we will be quitof thine oathwhich thou hast made us to swear.
And she said,According unto your words,sobeit. And she sent them away,and they departed:and she boundthe scarletlinein the window.
And they went,and cameunto the mountain,and abodethere threedays,until the pursuerswere returned:and the pursuerssoughtthemthroughout all the way,but found
