When thou art departedfrom meto day,then thou shalt findtwomenby Rachel'ssepulchrein the borderof Benjaminat Zelzah;and they will sayunto thee, The asseswhich thou wentestto seekare found:and, lo, thy fatherhath leftthe careof the asses,and sorrowethfor you, saying,What shall I dofor my son?
Then shalt thou go onforwardfrom thence, and thou shalt cometo the plainof Tabor,and there shall meetthee threemengoing upto Godto Bethel,onecarryingthreekids,and anothercarryingthreeloavesof bread,and anothercarryinga bottleof wine:
And they willsalutethee, and givethee twoloaves of bread;which thou shalt receiveof their hands.
Afterthat thou shalt cometo the hillof God,where is the garrisonof the Philistines:and it shall come to pass, when thou art come thitherto the city,that thou shalt meeta companyof prophetscoming downfrom the high placewith a psaltery,and a tabret,and a pipe,and a harp,beforethem; and they shall prophesy:
And the Spiritof the LORDwill comeupon thee, and thou shalt prophesywith them, and shalt be turnedinto anotherman.
And let it be, when these signsare comeunto thee, that thou doas occasionservethee; for Godis with thee.
And thou shalt go downbeforeme to Gilgal;and, behold, I will come downunto thee, to offerburnt offerings,and to sacrificesacrificesof peace offerings:sevendaysshalt thou tarry,till I cometo thee, and shewthee what thou shalt do.
And it was so, that when he had turnedhis backto gofrom Samuel,Godgavehim anotherheart:and all those signscameto pass that day.
And when they camethither to the hill,behold, a companyof prophetsmethim; and the Spiritof Godcameupon him, and he prophesiedamongthem.
And it came to pass, when all that knewhim beforetimesawthat, behold, he prophesiedamong the prophets,then the peoplesaidoneto another,What is this that is come unto the sonof Kish?Is Saulalso among the prophets?
And oneof the same place answeredand said,But who is their father?Therefore it became a proverb,Is Saulalso among the prophets?
And when he had made an endof prophesying,he cameto the high place.
And Saul'sunclesaidunto him and to his servant,Whitherwentye? And he said,To seekthe asses:and when we sawthat they were no where,we cameto Samuel.
And Saul'sunclesaid,Tellme, I pray thee, what Samuelsaidunto you.
And Saulsaidunto his uncle,He toldus plainlythat the asseswere found.But of the matterof the kingdom,whereof Samuelspake,he toldhim not.
And Samuelcalledthe peopletogether unto the LORDto Mizpeh;
And saidunto the childrenof Israel,Thus saiththe LORDGodof Israel,I brought upIsraelout of Egypt,and deliveredyou out of the handof the Egyptians,and out of the handof all kingdoms,and of them that oppressedyou:
And ye have this dayrejectedyour God,who himself savedyou out of all your adversitiesand your tribulations;and ye have saidunto him, Nay, but seta kingover us. Now therefore presentyourselves beforethe LORDby your tribes,and by your thousands.
And when Samuelhad caused all the tribesof Israelto come near,the tribeof Benjaminwas taken.
When he had caused the tribeof Benjaminto come nearby their families,the familyof Matriwas taken,and Saulthe sonof Kishwas taken:and when they soughthim, he could not be found.
Therefore they enquiredof the LORDfurther, if the manshould yet comethither.And the LORDanswered,Behold, he hath hidhimself among the stuff.
And they ranand fetchedhim thence: and when he stoodamongthe people,he was higherthan any of the peoplefrom his shouldersand upward.
And Samuelsaidto all the people,Seeye him whom the LORDhath chosen,that there is none like him among all the people?And all the peopleshouted,and said,God savethe king.
Then Samueltoldthe peoplethe mannerof the kingdom,and wroteit in a book,and laid it upbeforethe LORD.And Samuelsent➔ all the peopleaway,every manto his house.
And Saulalso wenthometo Gibeah;and there wentwith him a band of men,whose heartsGodhad touched.
But the childrenof Belialsaid,How shall this man saveus? And they despisedhim, and broughthim no presents.But he held his peace.
