For, lo, they are gonebecause of destruction:Egyptshall gather them up,Memphisshall burythem: the pleasantplacesfor their silver,nettlesshall possessthem: thornsshall bein their tabernacles.
The daysof visitationare come,the daysof recompenceare come;Israelshall knowit: the prophetisa fool,the spiritualmanismad,for the multitudeof thine iniquity,and the greathatred.
The watchmanof Ephraimwaswith my God:butthe prophetisa snareof a fowlerin all his ways,andhatredin the houseof his God.
They have deeplycorruptedthemselves, as in the daysof Gibeah:thereforehe will remembertheir iniquity,he will visittheir sins.
I foundIsraellike grapesin the wilderness;I sawyour fathersas the firstripein the fig treeat her first time:butthey wentto Baalpeor,and separatedthemselves untothatshame;andtheirabominationswere according as they loved.
As forEphraim,their gloryshall fly awaylike a bird,from the birth,and from the womb,and from the conception.
Though they bring uptheir children,yet will I bereavethem,that there shallnotbea manleft: yea, woealso to them when I depart
Ephraim,as I sawTyrus,isplantedin a pleasant place:but Ephraimshall bring forthhis childrento the murderer.
Givethem, O LORD:what wilt thou give?givethem a miscarryingwomband drybreasts.
All their wickednessisin Gilgal:for there I hatedthem: for the wickednessof their doingsI will drive them outof mine house,I will lovethem no more:all their princesarerevolters.
Ephraimis smitten,their rootis dried up,they shall bearno fruit:yea, though they bring forth,yet will I slayeventhe belovedfruitof their womb.
