And Abrahamsaidunto his eldestservantof his house,that ruled overall that he had, Put,I pray thee, thy handunder my thigh:
And I will make thee swearby the LORD,the Godof heaven,and the Godof the earth,that thou shalt not takea wifeunto my sonof the daughtersof the Canaanites,amongwhom I dwell:
But thou shalt gounto my country,and to my kindred,and takea wifeunto my sonIsaac.
And the servantsaidunto him, Peradventure the womanwill not be willingto followmeunto this land:must I needs bringthy sonagainunto the landfrom whence thou camest?
And Abrahamsaidunto him, Bewarethou that thou bringnotmy sonthither again.
The LORDGodof heaven,which took mefrom my father'shouse,and from the landof my kindred,and which spakeunto me, and that swareunto me, saying,Unto thy seedwill I givethis land;he shall sendhis angelbefore thee,and thou shalt takea wifeunto my son
And if the womanwill not be willingto followthee,then thou shalt be clearfrom this my oath:only bringnot my sonthither again.
And the servantputhis handunder the thighof Abrahamhis master,and swareto him concerningthatmatter.
And the servanttooktencamelsof the camelsof his master,and departed;for all the goodsof his masterwerein his hand:and he arose,and wentto Mesopotamia,unto the cityof Nahor.
And he madehis camelsto kneel downwithoutthe citybya wellof waterat the timeof the evening,eventhe timethat women go outto draw
And he said,O LORDGodof my masterAbraham,I pray thee, send megood speedthis day,and shewkindnessuntomy masterAbraham.
Behold, I standhereby the wellof water;and the daughtersof the menof the citycome outto drawwater:
And let it come to pass, that the damselto whom I shall say,Let downthy pitcher,I pray thee, that I may drink;and she shall say,Drink,and I will givethy camelsdrinkalso:let the same beshethatthou hast appointedfor thy servantIsaac;and thereby shall I knowthat thou hast shewedkindnessunto my master.
And it came to pass, before he had donespeaking,that, behold, Rebekahcame out,whowas bornto Bethuel,sonof Milcah,the wifeof Nahor,Abraham'sbrother,with her pitcherupon her shoulder.
And the damselwasveryfairto look upon,a virgin,neither had any manknownher: and she went downto the well,and filledher pitcher,and came up.
And the servantranto meet her,and said,Let me, I pray thee, drinka littlewaterof thy pitcher.
And she said,Drink,my lord:and she hasted,and let downher pitcherupon her hand,and gave him drink.
And when she had donegiving him drink,she said,I will drawwaterfor thy camelsalso, until they have donedrinking.
And she hasted,and emptiedher pitcherinto the trough,and ranagain unto the wellto drawwater, and drewfor all his camels.
And the manwonderingat her held his peace,to witwhether the LORDhad madehis journeyprosperousor
And it came to pass, as the camelshad donedrinking,that the mantooka goldenearringof half a shekelweight,and twobraceletsfor her handsof tenshekelsweightof gold;
And said,Whosedaughterartthou?tellme, I pray thee: is thereroominthy father'shousefor us to lodge in?
And she saidunto him, Iamthe daughterof Bethuelthe sonof Milcah,which she bareunto Nahor.
She saidmoreover unto him, We have bothstrawand provenderenough,androomto lodge in.
And the manbowed down his head,and worshippedthe LORD.
And he said,Blessedbethe LORDGodof my masterAbraham,who hath not left destitutemy masterof his mercyand his truth:Ibeingin the way,the LORDled meto the houseof my master'sbrethren.
And the damselran,and toldthem ofher mother'shousethese things.
And Rebekahhad a brother,and his namewasLaban:and Labanranoutunto the man,unto the well.
And it came to pass, when he sawthe earringand braceletsupon his sister'shands,and when he heardthe wordsof Rebekahhis sister,saying,Thusspakethe manunto me; that he cameunto the man;and, behold, he stoodbythe camelsat the well.
And he said,Come in,thou blessedof the LORD;wherefore standestthou without?for I have preparedthe house,and roomfor the camels.
And the mancameinto the house:and he ungirdedhis camels,and gavestrawand provenderfor the camels,and waterto washhis feet,and the men'sfeet
And there was setmeatbefore himto eat:but he said,I will not eat,until I have toldmine errand.And he said,Speak on.
And he said,IamAbraham'sservant.
And the LORDhath blessedmy mastergreatly;and he is become great:and he hath givenhim flocks,and herds,and silver,and gold,and menservants,and maidservants,and camels,and asses.
And Sarahmy master'swifebarea sonto my masterwhenshe was old:and unto him hath he given
And my mastermade me swear,saying,Thou shalt not takea wifeto my sonof the daughtersof the Canaanites,in whose landI dwell:
Butthou shalt gounto my father'shouse,and to my kindred,and takea wifeunto my son.
And I saidunto my master,Peradventure the womanwill not follow

And she sayto me, Both drinkthou, and I will also drawfor thy camels:letthe samebethe womanwhom the LORDhath appointed outfor my master'sson.
And before I had donespeakingin mine heart,behold, Rebekahcame forthwith her pitcheron her shoulder;and she went downunto the well,and drewwater: and I saidunto her, Let me drink,
And she made haste,and let downher pitcherfrom hershoulder, and said,Drink,and I will givethy camelsdrinkalso: so I drank,and she madethe camelsdrink
And I askedher, and said,Whose daughterartthou? And she said,The daughterof Bethuel,Nahor'sson,whom Milcahbareunto him: and I putthe earringupon her face,and the braceletsupon her hands.
And I bowed down my head,and worshippedthe LORD,and blessedthe LORDGodof my masterAbraham,which had led mein the rightwayto takemy master'sbrother'sdaughterunto his son.
And now if ye willdealkindlyand trulywith my master,tellme: and if not, tellme; that I may turnto the right hand,orto the left.
Then Labanand Bethuelansweredand said,The thingproceedethfrom the LORD:we cannotspeakunto thee badorgood.
Behold, Rebekahisbefore thee,takeher, and go,and let her be thy master'sson'swife,as the LORDhath spoken.
And it came to pass, that, when Abraham'sservantheardtheir words,he worshippedthe LORD,bowing himselfto the earth.
And the servantbrought forthjewelsof silver,and jewelsof gold,and raiment,and gavethemto Rebekah:he gavealso to her brotherand to her motherprecious things.
And they did eatand drink,he and the menthatwerewith him, and tarried all night;and they rose upin the morning,and he said,Send me awayunto my master.
And her brotherand her mothersaid,Let the damselabidewith usa fewdays,at the leastten;afterthat she shall go.
And he saidunto them, Hinder menot, seeing the LORDhath prosperedmy way;send me awaythat I may goto my master.
And they said,We will callthe damsel,and enquireat her mouth.
And they calledRebekah,and saidunto her, Wilt thou gowith this man?And she said,I will go.
And they sent awayRebekahtheir sister,and her nurse,and Abraham'sservant,and his men.
And they blessedRebekah,and saidunto her, Thouartour sister,be thouthe motherof thousandsof millions,and let thy seedpossessthe gateof those which hate
And Rebekaharose,and her damsels,and they rodeupon the camels,and followedthe man:and the servanttookRebekah,and went his way.
And Isaaccamefrom the wayof the well Lahairoi;for he dweltin the southcountry.
And Isaacwent outto meditatein the fieldatthe eventide:and he lifted uphis eyes,and saw,and, behold, the camelswerecoming.
And Rebekahlifted upher eyes,and when she sawIsaac,she lightedoffthe camel.
For shehadsaidunto the servant,Whatmanisthisthat walkethin the fieldto meet us?And the servanthadsaid,Itismy master:therefore she tooka vail,and covered herself.
And the servanttoldIsaacall thingsthat he had done.
And Isaacbrought herinto his motherSarah'stent,and tookRebekah,and she became his wife;and he lovedher: and Isaacwas comfortedafterhis mother's
