(1) Jerome, like many heresiologists, always associates Photinus with Sabellius, Paul of Samosata and Judaism. He wants to show, by this association, that they're all heretics, but does not particularise each of them. Jerome usually explains that the common heresy of Photinus and Judaism is to think that Jesus was just a man who had been adopted by God as his son. Jerome knows that Photinus is not exactly a Monarchianist, but an Adoptianist.
